I use a plastic screen that I bought from a local hardware store here in the Bahamas. It actually stays in place and prevents the hair from going down the drain.

I have two types of hair catchers I bought from Bed Bath and Beyond. I prefer the second because I have a pop up stopper in the tub and it's high enough to cover and catch the hair.
