Hey ladies -

As you know hair clogging the drain is the bain of most of our existences. The "hair catching" device I'm using now is absolute garbage. I'm wondering if you could provide recommendations (and links!) if you have one you particularly like.

Thanks!!!!

I don't know of the best hair catcher device. But the zip-it is the best tool for taking the hair out of the drain for only $0.99.

I try to prevent my hair from going down the drain by turning off the water when I detangle and catching the hair with my fingers, rolling it into a ball and putting it in the trash when I exit the shower.

I use a small, mesh drain cover. I absolutely love the thing, catches everything.

Edit: Mine look exactly like below

It works both way, in the image of a hole and the image of a hat.

Do you have a tub or a shower?

I love my metal one. It looks just like this, but without the bar

I am currently renting and maintenance bought it and put it in for me. It catches EVERYTHING and is so much nicer looking than the flimsy plastic ones. Before getting one I nearly went insane trying everything to prevent the hair from going down the drain. A metal hair catcher is just the most efficient way to go.
ETA: I have a bath tub.

I use this same one! I like it. It catches all of my hair, as long as it doesn't slide off the drain.

I also have a walk-in shower.

I like it to. I have had a few before this one but they would get all yucky :nono: Or they didn't catch hair very well.

I have to same OXO drain cover. I sewed on a piece of pantyhose (got the idea from my washing machine) to catch the really fine pieces that would make it through the mesh. Works great.

hmm, now you know I'm going to have to go home and try this tonight :yep:

I have this one but I thing it depends on how your shower or tub is made whether or not it will be effective because it needs to sit completely flush to the surface all the way around.

I use something like this too! It works great. I never knew how much hair I lost in the shower until I got this thing. It fits perfectly in the drain hole but I suspect my shower drain is larger than average.

Yes, I second this little thing. Just $1.00 at Family Dollar. I use it like the hole and it works well.
