Ive always wondered about Mel B and Eddie Murphy's daughter's hair. Anyone has some inside information? Texture? Cut?

Mel's crazy? LOL I don't know. That's her daughter so I'mma let her do her. I mean it is just hair. If she (the little girl) doesn't like it like that, when she get's old enough to care for her own hair she'll let it grow out.

I think children should be allowed to experiment with their hair. My little cousin is four and she has a very similar haircut. She had been begging her mom to cut her hair for about a year. She let her get the cut a day after christmas. She picked it out herself and everything. It looks do cute and she's been so happy about it.

Eta: but mel bs daughters hair doesn't look well taken care of to me. Its never styled or anything.

Cute kid but the cut is ridiculous! It should be against the law to give children wacky names and horrible hair cuts like this! I doubt Eddie approved the cut.

It makes her look boyish...and its never styled...something ala Willow Smith yes...but this is a NO. Also it looks relaxed... How old is lil Miss??

I don't have a problem with kids experimenting with hair but I think people should realize they don't have the same type of judgment as adults. If my mom let me cut my hair like that, I can guarantee that a few months down the road (or as soon as I saw another kid with hair I liked), I would have wanted my hair back and then she'd have to deal with my crying for a good part of a year before all of it grew back. You can experiment other ways without doing something this drastic. Kids tend to be pretty fickle and are generally unaware that something like this could take a LONG time to undo.
But that's jmho.

i say let the kid get all her bad hair cuts out her way now so she doesnt end up like some of us who go to shs and end up traumatized lol

plus, you guys have to keep in mind that she's not the average kid. when you grow up in the spotlight, things go a little different you know. let her be a kid, so what if she looks a goof, if she's happy, healthy, and has a good self esteem, let her be :D

Mel initially said on her reality show, her daughter got gum stuck in her hair and she had to cut it. I guess she decided the style works. :ohwell:

The child is adorable! I don't care for the style but I don't think anything is wrong with it (from an ethical standpoint). Let the child be. It's just a haircut and "looking healthy/unhealthy" is deceptive. Let her mom/hairstylist/whoever touches her hair be the judge of that. I just hope they didn't put a relaxer on her. The girl's only 3.

I think she's the cutest little thing but her hair...um no. And what the heck is that get up she got the baby in? Looks like it's time to go to bed but she ain't going.

I don't really like how she dresses/styles that child but she ain't mine so more power to her.

Funny you should say that :perplexed

She probably wanted her hair like her Mommies'.
She is young, and has plenty of time to do what she wants with her hair. Everyone is not as obsessed with "long" hair, natural hair, or "awesome" hair routine. Hair doesn't make her any less cute - it is just a style. It is NOT permanent - hair grows back :spinning:

Come to think of it, white folks do all kids of foolishness with their kids hair and it's cool.

Shoot, some of our parents thought Jheri Curls were HOT and couldn't wait to slap them in thier kids' hair. I don't think that her hair is any worse than a jheri curl, weave, extensions, etc. in a kids hair. She probably won't remember anyway. I would have no idea of the foolishness my mother did to my hair when I was little if I didn't have pics lol

I wouldn't do my daughter's hair like that though. She ain't walking around with me looking crazy :look::lachen:

lmfao my little brother had a rat tail! crap was funny... it'd be braided and be half way down his back but god forbid he washed his hair and my momma didnt braid it! it'd shrink up to the little nappy doo doo curl on the back of his neck lmfao goodness. that mixed with his lop sided hi top was a HAM!!!!

I think the cut looks bad and I personally don't think that kids should be able to choose their hairstyles when it involves edgy hairstyles, cuts, or chemicals. Thats why they have parents. When I was growing up my mom decided how my hair would be worn and deciding hair styles for myself was something that came with age.

Heck, I remember wanting a curl when I was younger cause my mom had one. Did she let me get it? Heck no. And I'm glad she didn't allow me to get a geri-curl.

It looks like it's combed on the regular, chemicals weren't used to achieve the style, and and she's 3 so it's not like there some dress code she has to adhere to for some reason so it's not that big a deal. It's not cute to me in the first pic posted but who expects a child, even in public, to look on point at all times? I think it looks really cute in the other 2 pics.

I'm not mad. Plus everytime I see pics of the child she is happy and laughing and cutting up something fierce!
There are worse things that can happen to a child than a haircut, especially after hearing about gum in her hair. Some people make it seem like someone grabbed her head and hacked away in a rage...Jeeze...
