What am I doing wrong to my daughters hair?? HELP!

I need help!! My daughter has a full head of thick 3c/4a natural hair. I have recently noticed over the past few months that she is losing length steadily. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I haven't changed how I do her hair. I usually keep it braided, cornrows or two strand twists. I don't wash it often, could this be the problem? I am very upset, because now that my hair is FINALLY growing, I am worried about hers. She has beautiful hair, and I have always prided myself on taking very good care of it. Although I surge I don't want to use that product on her. I'm going to start conditioner washes bi weekly, and a weekly deep conditioner. I did that last night, and tried a protective style this morning. I don't know how that is going to work. I styled it in a bun, but she is only seven years old and could care less about her hair

I have a feeling she is going to come home with it all over her head, which is why braids have always worked. Her ends look scraggly but not split, should I go back to trimming every six weeks??? I am at a lost. What am I doing wrong??? Can someone help me out. Please???

Does she sleep with her head covered?
Now that it is winter time...are her ends touching wool at all? If they are...the wool can definitely eat away at her ends.

It sounds like she just needs a trim...which is ok...doesnt mean you are doing anything wrong.

That's another problem.

I can't keep anything on her head at night! I've tried everything, down to the ghetto stocking cap. I'm going to walmarts tonight and see about buying her a silk pillowcase. I'm telling you she is not making this easy on me.Thanks!!

Have you tried the cap w/the long strings the guys wear? I just started wearing that at nite and it never moves or come off at nite.

Satin pillow case will definitely help...I am a wild sleeper too...Sally's Beauty Supply has a wrap impregnated with conditioner...it is very long and it is the only one that stays on my head at night...and doesnt feel like I have a tourniquet on my head!

This is what I use for my 7 year old also. It works pretty good.
