Wet Bun-ers: How often do you take down and redo?

I'm a little slow on jumping on the bandwagon, but I just wet bunned my hair last night. I FINALLY have enough length so that I don't look like a HAM sandwich . I washed, conditioned and worked my Denman brush through sections of hair until it laid flat to my head, put it in a pony tail along with some Infusium and coconut oil and a little styling lotion and viola! it came out really good! But now I'm wondering...how often should I take it down and redo? Do you all co-wash, then redo? If so, how often? I kind of think I should treat this method similar to how people wear updo's from the salon--just tie it up and don't touch it again until wash day! Is that a good assumption, or am I missing something???

I wash, co, bun for three days and THEN cw and rebun for an additional three days. If I could go longer than three days I would.

I wash with diluted v05 extra body, only washing the scalp. CO and detangle with (right now) hemp hydrating conditioner. Rinse and slather any conditioner on the last 8-10" of hair. Gel my edges down and use vaseline on the area from the hairline to where the ponytail holder will go. Bun and secure the bun with 50-11 amish hair pins and that's it. At night I tie my hair down.

I wet/baggie bun every 3 to 4 days, then take down to re-do again. I alternate with a co-wash/shampoo wash every take down. I either pre-poo or DC with every co-wash/wash as well.

It helps my hair lay down and not curl back up. I'm not using alot so washing is no problem. I use diluted poo and only wash the scalp.

Beautiful. I just love love love a nice bun. Thanks for sharing. My hair is probably I guess ear length, so the smallest amis pins should work 5/8.

I thought sleeping with a ponytail holder in your hair bad because it causes breakage? Does the vaseline help curb that too? Do you have to sleep "pretty"?

I co-wash and wet bun every 2-3 days. I just moisturize dried portions with VO5 and water everyday.
