Wendy Williams on Lacefronts

I heard of this a loong time ago before lace fronts became so popular. It was this white man stylist and he called the lf a hair replacement system. He charged so much that you had to call for a consultation to get the price. Anyhoo he suggest that you shave your head so the system fits better. After visiting that site I realized my hair situation wasn't that bad.

the bss lady today suggested this to a older lady who had just bought a lacefront... the older lady and me looked at the korean lady like she had six heads......lol.. the lay who bought the wig looked at the korean lady and was like uhhhh she'll just put some gel on it! hahahaha it was funny..

I had heard about that when I first learned about lace front. I can understand the logic. For me, that's more trouble then it's worth. And I like my naturally wonky hairline. I don't glue on my cheapo lace fronts anyways.

I have friend in ATL that shaves her edges for lacefront placement. I looked at her real crazy the first time she told me that ish.

Yes go on BHM and women are doing it there.

They say it helps from the glue not ripping their edges off, or to make the baby hair look more real...

I have met some of these BHM women..... That is crazyness....it is too much!!!!

yeah, i read about this and thought it was the norm. I originally read it on another hair board and so, there stopped my curiosity about lacefronts.

I saw that on the Wendy show. Ain't no way. But when I think about when I first heard of LF wigs, it was more so for ladies who had cancer treatments that caused their hair to fall out. Since many of them chose to shave their heads -- rather than deal with patches of missing hair -- their stylists probably saw that it fit better with a reduced hairline or no hair.

I think I'm gonna put a little castor oil on my edges tonight, just to show them I care.

If you have some type of alopecia and never intend to wear your own hair, I understand. But I cannot see putting glue on my head, especially after shaving it. Not for the 2% chance that the lace wig will look good.

There was a pic of Kelly Rowland performing and her wig blew back. It seemed as though she shaved her hair line.

I guess if you were just going to wear straight wigs and had no intentions of wearing your own hair, then it makes sense. It wouldn't be a big deal in that case.

That reminds me of the Egyptians shaving their hair under their wigs.

I agree I wouldn't do it because LF look horrible to me. *IMO* Weaves and regular wigs look much better. However, I would keep short hair if I wore weaves or wigs 90% of the time. Trying to stuff long hair under a weave or wig is more trouble than its worth.

I disagree with that Miss Lady! I stay wearing wigs, it's my go-to protective style! But I am not shaving nan hair off of this head for a wig. GTFOOHWTBS.

It does take a bit of doing to get my hair under there, but it's worth it. I cornrow it in the beehive pattern and it fits just fine.

There is a lady who is on YT that shows how to put on lacefronts and she shows herself shaving her hairline in order to put the glue on and have no hair showing. Yeah. I thought she was insane and I had the same look as Sponge Bob and his buddy in my siggy as I was watching her doe that to her hairline.

It is been a minute since I saw that ytuber, so I don't even know if she is still on, but she was proud of what she was doing in order to get the "natural" hairline look she wanted.

Not me. I almost hold a memorial service when I see damage or hair loss on my hairline.

See, I'm too lazy for all that. If you like it, I love it.

I was no where near your length. I used to throw that ish in a ponytail or bun and K.I.M. I would, however, do braid extensions because they last 2 months.

I know that some ladies have shaved off ALL their hair not just their hairlines. They say it reduces bulk under the wig

YEah in blackhairmedia some of those women shave their hair and hairlines for the wigs. I in all good conscious cannot do something like that. I care for MY hair not something I had to buy.

Just had a thought... If you shave your hairline then put the glue on that spot, wouldn't that clog up the hair folicles and prevent the hair from growing back in?
