I dont think theres anything wrong with washing everday, as long as you arent using harsh shampoos with ALS or SLS. And as long as youre conditioning it and not using direct heat, I dont see a problem. I personally dont do it because I dont have time, and it would probably be too much manipulation. But, I do wash about every 3 days now. And just to think, before I joined hair boards I would go at least 2 wks! My scalp itches somethin' crazy if I dont!!

I swear my hair breaks/sheds less, is more moist when I co-wash every other day. I see the difference since I've not been working out every day like I usually do and have cut washing down to once a week. Can't wait to start working out and co-washing again!

Before i joined i would go for 2-3 weeks w/o washing as well, as i was afraid to get it wet all the time. i don't use heat or comb anymore and i have had no problems. i started washing two days on one day off never going more than a day w/o washing. but now i'm addicted and have been washing everyday for like the past week! i even got a little crazy and instead of mixing my honey with conidtioner i just used straight honey! my hair is super soft and i'm loving it. i think im gonna make that part of my routine. condition then wash with honey.:D

I don't, but I think I need to at least twice a week. This week I didn't shampoo twice and today my ends feel dry and a little crunchier than normal. Twice a week works best for me.

I'm a new daily wash convert. I really love the feeling!! I countdown to when Ican wash, it's addictive. And my hair hasn't been poofy like I though it would be - au contraire, it's more soft and straight than I could imagine it to be during a stretch.

Every since finding hair boards, I've been washing everyday. If I didn't live with so many people, I'd do it more often.

I co-wash every day when my hair is down/out of twists or braids. Its a must. I don't dare manipulate this stuff with condish and water nearby.;)

My routine is this:

On Sunday night I will wash my hair, blowdry then flat iron it. Hopefully my hair will make it through the week straight. Then either that weekend or on Monday I will start my cowashing. I will cowash everyday until Sunday night again where I will again straighten my hair.

If you are going to wash every day you also need to make sure it gets mostly dry. I had to learn the hard way. A continuously wet warm spot on your scalp is a breeding ground for trouble (fungus, etc.).

I used to wash every day or every other day when my hair was relaxed since i usually wore it curly. After I chopped it off I would do conditioner washes daily and wear it out with a good moisturizer. Now that it's starting to grow a bit I wouldnt dare wash everyday, mainly due to hassle and partly due to the dryness of my hair. I don't think it's so bad, there are worse things to be obsessed with :)

If I washed my hair daily I'd probably have 4 strands of hair on my head like Homer Simpson:( .

Me, too. My hair is so over/underprocessed that I can't even touch it too much or It'll break. I'm looking forward to being natural so I can wash/rinse everyday!

I have been washing my hair everyday since Spring started with no problems. My hair has grown alot, it stays soft, the hair strands feel thick and I don't have any breakage. Maybe it's the technique that I use but I don't manipulate my hair when I wash it everyday. I use a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner to get rid of the products that I use on a daily basis. I don't scrub my scalp and I just smooth the 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner over my hair, put on plastic cap, continue to shower, rinse, apply conditioner and smooth and follow the same steps. After rinsing out the conditioner, I apply hair products shake or do a ponytail and then airdry. No combing.

Now that it is getting cold, I will go back to washing once a week but as soon as it is Spring again I will start daily washing again.

OT: Whimsy your hair is gorgeous!!:love:

I usually con wash once a week and wash once a week. My question to those that wash everyday, do you find that you are using a lot of moisturizing and sealing products and then rinse them out the next day? I need advice on washing everyday and if so, how much product are you using? Thanks.

i have to laugh. The same for me. I use to go every two weeks. Then I would let my beautican do it one week and i would wash the next (if I felt like it) lol

Now I wash about every 3-4 days. My hair itch like crazy otherwise. I can not go longer than a week. The water is hydrating my hair and really helps with moisture.

I put honey in almost everything. My deep conditoner, and my sprays as well.

When I would alternate between cw and regular washes my hair really grew. I got lazy once I got to brastrap and stopped and then started flat ironing it. I need to go back to doing this.

Same here!

*raises hand* I'm in this club too, though I'm trying to do more protective styles this winter. Washing my hair everyday just gives me more versatility styling wise. The only con is that as my hair has gotten longer, it takes more time to con- wash it.

I have been co washing and wet bunning everyday for going on 3 years and have never had any problems.
