It could be anything, and I do mean anything. Okay, I'm going to ask you some questions that might make it easier for the other ladies to help you.

1). how do you style your hair after it's dry?
2). do you take any vitamins?
3). what products do you use on your hair before airdrying?
4). do you eat a lot of products with protein?
5). have you had your iron or thyroid tested recently?
6). If you get your hair relaxed---how often are your touch ups? Do you ever wrap your hair?

7). Do you think your problem has to do with an increased amount of shedding or breaking?

I can't think of any other questions right off hand, but I wish you a lot of luck in getting this problem solved.

Hot Trini Gal, I wouldn't underestimate the power of stress.

A few years ago I found myself in an incredibly stressful situation and my hair was seriously shedding. In fact, when I put my hair in two pigtails, the braid on the side that suffered severe shedding was the size of a toothpick! Once the source(s) of stress removed themselves, the hair grew back.

It appears that B vitamins are good to take during stressful periods. Stress depletes B vitamins (which, I have learned, are essential for hair growth - and health generally). I know that pantothenic acid, in combo with my B-complex and biotin supplements, has thoroughly worked wonders for my hair. Here's a thread on it, including a post from Jade 21, the supplements guru
