Wash Then Henna?

Sooo, I'm about to henna for the 1st time and was wondering if i should wash my hair first?? Just wondering if it wont be able to penetrate the hair with the moisturizer and oil in it...Thnx

I did my first henna today and it came out great! I didn't wash my hair first and I applied it to dry hair. But I do not use oils in my hair.

I always feel conditioning treatments do penetrate better on dry hair. I had success doing my 1st henna treatment on dry hair as a pre poo.

i like to wash first (at least the night before) because i like to feel that the henna is penetrating without any interference from product build up on my hair.
