I had no earthly idea that they took sooo long to ship your order. I placed an order with them last Wednesday and I received two emails from them the very same day, one was an order confirmation. So, I thought that meant they were going to send my order out the next day.
Well, I just received an e-mail from them saying that they just shipped my order out - a full week later. Whew, these products better be worth the wait. Plus, I'm moving Saturday and I'll have to keep my keys and keep checking my old apartment to make sure no one gets their hands on my goodies.

I ordered mine the Sunday before last and it *just* came in today. So I feel ya pain Sis. :ohwell: I like it so far but I won't be able to fully test it til after work. I just dabbed a little bit on my edges...so far so good.

Qhemet is notoriously slow with shipping. But the products are handmade, so that takes extra time. They ship from Florida, and I live in Georgia - still took about 10 days to receive my products. :perplexed

I was just going to post that I think I remember reading this and that might be why is takes longer to get your order.

Shoot I live in Florida & it took 12 days to receive my order!

Yeah curlmart is fas, that's where I order from. If curlmart is out of stock then I'll try the company's website.

She makes her products on order, so it wouldn't ship right away. In
fact, her FAQ states that orders can take up to 2 weeks for delivery.....

Q: How long will it take to receive your products?
A: Qhemet Biologics and Sedge & Bee Collection products are not stockpiled but are handmade fresh. Barring back orders and sold out products, customers are asked to allow 10 - 14 business days for order processing before shipment. Rarely does it take longer than 2 weeks to receive an order placed through the website
.

It took 3 weeks for me to get that little sample pack. I do like the stuff but I probably won't order again unless I get desperate and at that point I'll use curlsmart.com.

They better be handmade...and have a little fairy dust mixed in for all this waiting  . If I like them I'll be sure to order the products from curlmart next time.

Curlmart is super-duper quick! Problem is they don't carry all of Qhemet's products. I wanna try the Amla pomade, so I'll have to order from Qhemet directly.

Thank you and yell it again will you?

No offense but I don't understand why people keep complaining about shipping for Oyin and Qhemet Biologic's products. Both web sites clearly state that the products are handmade and that shipping can take a couple of weeks. People like these products b/c they are handmade and fresh, which does not equal fast shipping time with a small business. From what I've seen on threads @ NP: Qhem is the sole employee. And I believe Oyin has a couple of people working for her co.

Besides if you read any thread on here about the products, I'm sure being patient about shipping time has been mentioned.

Bottom line: Read shipping info clearly on ANY website before buying (I always do to get an idea of shipping costs at least) & realize that these women are maintaining small businesses that make fresh handmade products.

Now if your prouducts are taking a month to reach you (domestic shipping) I can understand getting upset.

The used to be faster. I think they have been overloaded because of LHCF. It happens everytime there are product raves. either the merchant runs out or they take longer to ship.

I think they are well worth the wait though.

I have the Amla Pomade...love it so far. I use it as my scalp "grease". And a little bit goes a LONG way, so I expect that jar to last me for months!

ITA. most of these tiny companies don't have any employees so its not like a factory setting where there are products on a shelf and a staff there to pluck them off and throw them into boxes. qhemet, oyin, asha and bb handmake their products and all clearly state on their websites that there's a two week turn around so it's not like they're hiding this information from people.

i prefer ordering directly from qhemet and have been doing so for over a year with no problems.

I just ordered today 3 things from Qhemet. When I got my emailed confirmations I replied to her because it didn't state when I would receive. She replied back right away letting me know the items would ship in 7-10 business days ( I had missed that on the website). I got such a warm response! I don't mind waiting a few weeks for quality product. I did mention to her though that my dry hair was patiently waiting

Honestly that doesn't sound like so long to me (a week).

The last time I ordered from Oyin I think it took 2-3 weeks. Can't remember.

I usually order my Qhemet products from the curlmart but since they are out of stock I ordered right from the source on Monday. They got back to me and said my order would be at least 10days. I did miss that on the site but I do understand why I have to wait.

A suggestion:

Before you completely run out of a product from Qhemet or Oyin or whomever, reorder so you won't be SOL. I loooove the olive oil detangler from Qhemet, I am half way done with the large bottle so I just ordered another. This way I don't ever have to fret over the wait.

P.S. - anyone want to sell a sample of qhemet scalp pomades?

I was gonna suggest curlmart.com but it looks like some of you beat me to it. Their products are so good that they are worth the wait for me.

Yea, I guess that is the reason. I order from Curlmart who is a little bit faster...The products are worth the wait though....

I usually pride myself on my patience, but I'm moving soon and I don't want to deal with any extra hassle if my package doesn't arrive before I hand in my keys. I still have until next Tuesday, but from what ya'll are saying I may not even have my order by then and I'll have to drive out of my way to check on my package.
I wanted to order it before I moved because the neighborhood I'm moving to isn't as "nice" as the place I currently live in and I think someone would run off with my things since they've already stolen the logos off my car :ohwell:

Won't the Post Office forward you mail? You shouldn't have to go back to your old place to get any mail, in an ideal situation that is.

Also: I think some of the confusing about shipping times is b/c of the multiple emails you receive after placing an order. I guess the confirmation order is just saying that: we received your order and it's going in the queue to be processed (not a shipping notification). Then when it's actually shipped you'll recieve another update email.

That sounds like her. I've ordered from her and curlmart but prefer ordering directly from her since curlmarts shipping is higher. I've never had a problem with her customer service - always friendly - and I've always received my products. As others have said, the products are made fresh, she runs the business by herself and wait time is posted on her site. They're well worth the wait to me. You're going to love these products Bre! :D

Kitkat3ny, your hair is so pretty!!!!!

Yeah, but I've caused a little confusion by switching the place I'm moving to at the very last minute. Also they leave the package in front of your doorstep (at both places). At my place now, that package can sit there for days and nobody cares, at the place I'm going to they've already stolen petty things, so I'm sure they'd steal my package since I wouldn't get home until late.
