I pre-pooed with Dabur amla oil over night. Rinsed and shampooed with shakkai soap bar.:wallbash: When my hair dryed it felt like it was coated with wax. That oil has mineral oil in it and my hair definetly didn't like it. I knew that before I purchased it but everyone raved about it. Am I the only one? Anyway I clarified and did a protein condish. Much better.

Do you have a picture of the bottle because the Vatika Oil I use is Coconut Oil based and doesn't have mineral oil. It gets solid when it's cold. It's the light green bottle with the darker green top.

The oil is dark green and the top is green I'm sorry but I am new to posting pictures. It containes Paraffinum Liquidum, which I think is mineral oil. If this is not truw forgive me. My hair did not respond well to it at all.

I know the oil you are talking about. People do rave, and I use i, but my hair doesn't like it either. I use it as a prepoo but leave it for as short a period as possible - like 3-5 minutes because the mineral sits on my scalp and makes it itch and makes my hair feel dirty even when it isn't.

I am just trying to get rid of this bottle. I won't use it anymore after that.

Yea there are 2 types the olive oil based one and the mineral oil.

THERE IS AN OLIVE OIL BASED ONE????? :lick:

Do they sell it in typical Indian stores too, or is it easier to find online? Does it look green also and have the fancy green and gold packaging?

My hair felt dirty too. I think that I will stick with my coconut oil and castor oil. That was a total mess.:lachen:

Your post is still unclear to me which dabur oil you used sounds like you didn't use vatika coconut, but did you use : dabur vatika coconut(lt. green bottle with dark green cap) -this one I love, as a prepoo makes my hair feel velvety dabur amla (green or purple oil) if so this stuff is like baby oil to me with a strong perfumey smell. I never understood the raves for this either, but to each his own dabur vatika(olive I think?) (white bottle) -never tried and wont because of unnecessary mineral oil

Vatika Amla in a clear bottle with green colored oil in it. It also has a green top. Not Vatika coconut. I use the parachute brand of cocnut oil. Hope that cleared it up.

Tried the pre-poo w/ dabur amla a few weeks ago and its a MAJOR no-no for me as well. I got no benenift from it, no moisture, no strength...might as well have slept in crisco or something.:look::nono:

Vatica coconut oil on the other hand is the ish!!

Yes! I love the Vatika Coconut Oil! this is the only one I will use, the other Indian oils don't smell too good, and I guess they think mineral oil is minerals, like vitamins & minerals........... I don't know just talking LOL!! I ain't no scientist/chemist.

But maybe they use the mineral oil because of the Powders, since people say it dries the hair out, maybe it should be used when you use the Hair Powders and nothing else? I am guessing so someone help me out.
