Both v05 and suave have cheap, sweet smelling conditoners. I have never tried either but have heard reviews of both. However i would like to know has anyone tried both of these conditioner brands and which did you like better?
I have tried both of this and althought I looooove that strong sents that the VO5 leaves long after I have left the shower, I favor the softenss that the Suave leaves in my hair. I especially like the Suave Coconut for softness but not the artificial smell. Despite the smell I continue to use it for conditioning washes.
I think I like V05 better. (For co washes--not as a deep conditioner...) They seem to rinse out "cleaner". The Suave ones are thick and they leave my hair feeling a little coated. I've only tried the coconut, passion flower and Humectant...
They make great shaving lotions, though!
Edited to add:
I forgot about the Suave Aroma Benefits line. The Green Tea & Jasmine is thinner than the other Suave conditioners. I've sniffed the others in the line--they don't smell anything near as yummy as the V05's...
Right now I'mI using vo5 blushing apples for co washes and suave humectant for more serious conditioning purposes. I agree with what the others said--the vo5 is thinner and rinses out more completely. I think it depends on what you want to use it for. vo5 doesn't do much if your looking for a good deep conditioner. But it does great co washes. Suave isn't super rich or anything, but if you just want something to follow a shampoo with then it's good (the humectant, at least--I haven't used any of the other kinds). I like the humectant cuz it gives my thin hair more body and fullness. They're pretty cheap so if I were you I might try one of each.
I like the Suave better because my hair seems to be less tangled than with the VO5 and I cannot get those scents to stay in my hair when I use the V05.
Jazz Angel,
Do you do anything special to get the scents to last?
I've found that both of them are too thin to use as a conditioner wash. I've recently started using them as rinses only. The lovely smells enhances my hair ritual!
Unlike the other ladies, I've only used for regular conditioning. I don't do the CO washes at all.
I would say with both lines, it's hit and miss for me. I tried several Suave conditioners and had no luck until I tried the Sun-Ripened Raspberry which smells delightful and conditions my hair wonderfully...soft, silky hair with no tangles. The Coconut in the Naturals line and the Aloe were utterly dreadful for my hair. It felt very coated and poorly conditioned...just gummy, you know?
With VO5, I've had great luck with the Pina Colada and the Tangerine Tickle. With the Pina Colada, I love the smell, but never use twice in a row because it can leave my hair feeling coated. With the Tangerine Tickle, it is great for my hair...soft, silky and no tangles.
Maybe catch a sale and beforehand, compile a list of some possibilities.
I've tried the Vo5 PinaColada and I love the smell and it was okay for my co washes. I've tried suave also and it really didn't leave my hair as soft as the Vo5.
If you have a "99 cents" store in your area, check for Vo5 there. The one in my area has every scent of Vo5 shampoo and conditioner for 99 cents.
They are both thin conditioners, but I like how my hair with the conditioner on it. It doesn't do much for detangling though. Right now, I'm using V05 Pina Colada Conditioner, and I use Suave's Vanilla Floral Protein Conditioner (I love the smell!).
