Updated Ultimate Hair Length Goal

Hi Ladies ,

I did a search and the last thread was from 2012, so I thought that it would be great to do an updated poll and thread. After all, in 4 years, you could have met and even surpassed your hair goal back then and come up with a new one

So, :

What is your updated ultimate hair length goal? Has it changed? If so, why or if not why not? Are you close to reaching your goal?

These types of threads are good for me to be able to go back and see where my thoughts are at the time...Thanks in advance!!!

That shrinkage is a beast, isn't it???? I know some ladies have goals of BSL unstretched-- which really means WL-HL !!!

Thank you!! I love yours too, especially the color. I'd really like to get some done but I've done multiple henna treatments and I'm way too scared.

BSL unstretched is insane, though. I don't think my shrinkage rate would ever allow that. My hair would find some way to coil back into my scalp, lol.

It use to be TBL because I couldn't imagine constantly sitting on it but YOLO I want to be a unicorn

My ultimate goal is APL unstretched. I am working on thickening my ends so it will be a minute.

It used to be full APL for me but since I hit BSL, now I want to get to MBL. I think I will quit after that is achieved - but we shall see .

TBL only because I'm pretty sure my wash and go will be SL-APL, but if I can get a SL-APL Wash and go with WL or MBL hair then I'll stop there.

My ultimate goal use to be layered bra strap when I first started. I've since been able to get to around waist length relaxed. Now I'm going for between hip and tailbone length stretched natural.

WL is my ultimate goal, currently MBL and prayerfully I can reach my goal in the next 2 years.

My goal is still waist length. Once I get there I may decide to go for hip length. We'll see

I am about 4-5 inches away right now. If I treat my ends right, I can meet my goal by next December.

Thank YOU! I understand, color can be tricky. I agree- even when I reached MBL 5 years ago, wet and in its natural state, I was SL

My goal is HL. I'm grazing right now, but I want to be full HL with healthy ends. I just had a trim so my ends are in good shape. Hopefully I'll be at goal by the end of the year. I don't plan to straighten again until then.

At this length my hair is APL unstretched - like in a braid out or twist out. With just my natural curl pattern, it still shrinks to shoulder length. I would never let it dry like that though.

My ultimate length goal would be full HL straightened, which hopefully will result in full shoulder-length wash-n-gos with full shrinkage and APL-ish twist/braid-outs. Right now, I'm at a layered WL, but my wash-n-gos shrink to neck-length and my twist/braid-outs are right at shoulder-length. I used to think WL would be so much hair, but my shrinkage make the length seem manageable.

Definitely tailbone length. Hoping to be there by December 2017. I'm moving to Arizona in June so I'll have to learn how to take care of my hair in the desert. I'm hoping the dry heat and revamping my regimen doesn't cause a set back.

When I first started I I had BC'd to about 1/2 inch of hair. The longest my hair had ever been to that point was about NL. I didn't think that I would ever get to APL, but once I got there I started shooting for WL. Now that I'm almost there, I want TBL. My celie braids reach CBL, but at best my braid outs reach NL. The shrinkage is real!

I've never set myself a length goal before but now that my longest layers are APL, I'd like to grow on to WL. I'm thinking it should take me another two years, without setbacks.

I've never set a length goal until I realized how long my hair has gotten. Then I decided I can actually hit waist length if I want to

Second is after my hairdresser "trimmed" it. After she's taken half of during detangling.

I am done with stylists

BSL curly or tailbone length stretched, whichever comes first. I'll mark tailbone for poll.

Either way I'd probably never wear my hair straight because I prefer my hair resting above my hips. I can't imagine wash and gos being a good idea either so, I'll be a braid out girl.

Currently my longest layers are almost APL, but my hair is very layered.

I have no idea if my hair will ever grow/hang down, else I'd say my length goal is APL unstretched.

HL straightened. Not sure what that would be in it's curly/coily state because I have extreme shrinkage. I just want my twist/braid outs to sit around APL. Right now, I am MBL and they sit at shoulder length.

My original goal was WL straightened/stretched. Now I'm there and I want more hair I may stop once I reach HL but tailbone sounds fun too. Lol, I say this but I always end up dreading wash day and fantasize about cutting my hair to shoulder length or shorter

For the longest my ultimate hair goal was BSL...now that I'm creeping past BSL I want more!!! Honestly, my goal is to grow my hair as long as it can grow...my hopes are that it reaches at least waist, but i secretly want hip length because i'm greedy!!!

My goal was waist length when I first wanted long hair in 2010, but Ive since changed to TBL. My hair is waist length now but due to shrinkage, it doesnt seem long at all.
