Well, I am a bun wearer and I probably straighten my hair 3-5 times a year. I also wear braids sometimes.
So people rarely see me wear my hair out, natural or straightened and boy are they wondering!

My boyfriend told me that today, a female classmate of his asked him how long my hair was. It made me laugh because she's white...but she's not the first! The last time I wore my hair straight (October last year) and went out, my black friends were checking it out of course because they were curious, but so was the white girlfriend of one of my male (black) friends! She was checking it out like a black girl- and it was just in a ponytail!!

Man this bun's driving people crazy! Ok, slight exaggeration, but people- male/female/black/white are curious as heck as to what I've got goin on underneath!

Of course this makes me feel even more scared about how long it will be when I do straighten again in April/May...I hope I have something to show for all this hiding away!!

Well, last time I checked, it is around collarbone in front, and 2 inches away from bra-strap in the back. That was in Feb. In October it was 3 inches away from bra-strap, so it didn't really get that far. In fact, I think I gained that whole inch in January.

And here I am hoping to be at least bra-strap by April/May! I'm on the 12 inches in 12 months challenge so I'm hoping I'm somewhat on track...

I know just how you feel. I get the same thing at work. I even had one sister tell me, "well when you do wear it down it better be to your butt". But wait a minute.....you wear a wig, so why you even worried about my hair. Well....that's what my mind was saying, I simply smiled and looked at her synthetic bangs.

I always wear my hair out and when my hair was long I had two women walk past me and say, "It's definitely a weave." I started to keep my mouth shut, but I turned around and said, "Hello?! I can hear you!!! My hair is real as the big butt you're dragging around."

Ya'll keep me laughing!

I get this all the time too. The bun kills people for some reason, they can't stand the mystery. And then when you let your hair down they feel all in it for tracks! This white chick at work the other day reached her hand up in my braid-out after making a similar comment, which was clipped up and came out w/a hand full of coconut oil so I think it killed her curiosity.
