I have received both products from Surge this monday. I love them both. They work wonderfully. I didn't like Woojee cream at all but I love the leave in. It's much lighter, more of a thick liquid like consistancy. It has an unusual texture, almost like a gel. The Ultra Max is very creamy, like Profectiv products but not sticky feeling at all. I could see myself replacing my beloved Profectiv break free with the Ultra Max.
Both products smell delicious, almost like candy. I give them both a /images/graemlins/up.gif.

I got the Surge UltraMax today. At room temp it's stiff like vaseline. It melts down in about 60 seconds when microwaved, but it stiffens quickly too!
I anticipate fast build up if I apply it to my scalp daily in the shower with an applicator bottle. Even melted down it's thick like Motions Oil Moisturizer. BUT it shouldn't nap up my new growth because of the oily consistency.
The color is pastel green. The smell is honey sweet, but NOT too overpowering. It's LESS pungent that Profective Break Free. I probably won't notice the smell after application.

I don't apply anything but WGO to my scalp but I could see that building up pretty quickly, if you don't wash or CW frequently. I CW daily so I don't have a problem w/ build up at all.

I'm not sure how to work these products into my daily routine. /images/graemlins/confused.gif I co washed, applied a little Elucence MB as a leave-in (to detangle my hair), applied the MA to my scalp, applied my curl activator, the UM to my edges, a little gel and then slicked my hair back into my bun. Within a few hours my hair felt hard and crunchy. /images/graemlins/frown.gif
I probably used too many products... But I need a creamy leave-in to detangle my hair and activator for moisture. Surge alone doesn't work for me.

I use the moisture aide w/ my suave coconut after I wash my hair. I put some of the ultra max after my hair's in my ponytail to smooth it down, then I add my coconut oil & gel. I slather the ultra max on my ponytail and then put the baggie around my ponytail.

I'll continue my review/saga here.

I got the products last week from Surge, but I just used last night. I love the smell of the Moisture Aid but it's thin...I need thick moisturizers for my hair so I will use it as "leave-in" after washing my hair. I applied Surge 14 and then later applied the Ultra Max but this morning it seems as if I had build-up already! I wonder if I could use the Ultra Max alone...will it have the same results as Surge for growth...? I guess time will tell.

Oh dear the reviews for the Ultra Max (the one which I have my eye on) seems to be a 50/50 product.

My turn . . . /images/graemlins/grin.gif I like the Moisture Aid, but I agree it is very thin. Since I already use the Woojee Cream, I guess I could mix the Moisture Aid with it, but I haven't tried that yet. The Ultra Max isn't bad. The blue color is a turnoff, IMO, and it is a little thick. I also notice that combing my hair after applying it caused a few hairs to snap (yes, I could hear it!), so I apply, massage my scalp, finger comb my hair and that's it. No combing. However, I'm not sure I should even use a product that might cause my hair to snap after applying it. Oh well . . . I've cut my Surge down to a leave in after I wash only! I'm natural and there is too much reverting when I use Surge.
BTW, Surge seems to foam up after I spray it on. It's really strange. Has anyone else noticed this happening to their hair too?

Yep the foaming happens to me too. After I surge I put a satin scarf on and get cute ripples in the front, It smooths my hair down really well.

I'm beginning to dislike the moisture aid...for one it's still too thin and two...it leaves gunk in my hair...like right after I apply it esp. if mixed with another moisturizer, it "curdles" and I have to comb the pink "curdled balls" out of my hair... /images/graemlins/nono.gif

I finally did find both new Surge Products off of South Post Oak and the Beltway here in Houston. I've used them both. I find that after applying tne Max to my scalp daily, after some time my roots start to revert to the point I can't comb thru. So now, I make sure I apply my Biolage leave-in and WGO. This combo softens my hair a great deal. I use the Moisture Aide to slick my hair in a ponytail and on the end before going to be with a little mango butter.

The moisture aid has a great smell and yes it is thin I applied it and let my hair airdry is was just ok I did not get the moisturizing effect like I get from Salerm and Lacio Lacio I may have not used enough.
I sprayed with Surge spray to my scalp and hair let dry and then applied the Ultra Max which is thick my hair still felt kind of dry so I had to reach for the Surge Lotion Motion # 9 to get the result I wanted.
I know I wont be repurchasing the Moisture aide I get better results for Salerm,Lacio Lacio and my Nioxin Bliss leave in.

I wanted to add a brief update since this beginning post so long ago.
I have been using the Ultra Max moisturizer for over 1 month now. I had surgery on my scalp and part of my hairline was shaved for it. The Ultra Max is a great moisturzer that smells wonderful, gives my natural hair plenty of moisture and the added benefit of promoting hair growth isn't to shabby either! :*) I use this at least 3 days a week. I wear my "2 strand twist/bantu knot out" in a a curly fro for one day and then wear a puff for 3-4 days after. Each morning I grab a dab of the Ultra Max and smooth it through my hair and my "bed head" becomes soft and coily again. I really like it.
I have pics in my album of the growth, but no side by side comparison yet. I will do that tonight. Needless to say I really like the results.

Thank you Pookeylou for providing the information concerning the new Surge products. I have recently tried the Moisture Aide. It left a sticky dull film on my hair. It could be aiding is trapping the moisture inside the hair strand but I do not like the way it feels. I also tried the Ultra Max Cream I like the way it feels and looks. I still experience some breakages. I think I have to find the right balance between spraying the Surge Plus 14 & applying the Ultra Max Cream. I think I will spray it into my palms of my hands then apply it to parted portions of my hair. This way I will not over do the Surge Plus 14 application.
