Hey ladies, I finally got my tropical avocado in the mail today. Needless to say I couldn't wait to try it. I washed my hair and put it on. It was like butter. This stuff is OFF THE HOOK!!! The DR got it going on. Yall hear me. I'm like Amethyst..I'm ready to throw out all my other conditioners. The search is over. I have found my holy grail conditioner.

What have we been saying Armyqt, huh? What have we all been trying to convey?! Is this the new version you have? The new version has Avocadoes on the jar. Or is this the original formula you have? The original has a Tropical tree on the jar.

I have the original and like BlkMane I'm really gonna give somebody a piece of my mind if they went and messed up my conditioner /images/graemlins/mad.gif Okay I'm calm now. Glad you love it chica!

I also have the nacidit and will try that later in the week. Thanks for everyone for sharing their experiences and recommending this product. And thanks to all the ladies that went out of their way to get the numbers and contact info to order. I'm in love... /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Way cool! I'm glad you like it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Which Nacidit product did you get (shampoo, conditioner, or rinse)?

Hey Amethyst, I got the orginal formula with the tree on the front. Girl it's like no ther conditioner I've used. Those people will have to deal with me too if they mess with the formula.. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Allandra, I got the conditioner. I though I was getting the rinse. I'll have to ask Tracy about it. I know you use the tropical avocado as a pre-shampoo, but have you ever used it as a final conditioner?

I used it as a deep conditioner w/o heat once (I always use a rinse as my final - I've gotta keep the tangles far, far away).

I guess you have the new version as well. I have the old one and I'm about to retry it again to see if I get better results this time. I hope I love it as much as you guys do becasue my holy grail--Mizani Moisturefuse--has gone and changed formulas on me---so I will be stocking up. However, it will be nice to have a cheaper alternative to it in my rotation.

Keep us updated!!! /images/graemlins/drunk.gif

I'm washing my hair tonight so what did you do to your hair tonight ArmyQt......how long did you leave it on..blah blah blah .......

Amethyst,
Good luck on your move!
I appreciate your point, although I can't say I agree with it.
Quality of life is soooo subjective. Besides...
In what other city is your beloved Tropical Avocado Conditioner so readily available? ::: laughing ::: /images/graemlins/wink.gif

/images/graemlins/laugh.gif You are too much Hiddy and thanks for the well-wishes.
Just so you know, the company who distributes it are opening warehouses in Houston and the Dallas/FortWorth area/images/graemlins/clap.gif Texas is where I'm moving. So see, I won't be without it after all!

I used it the other night and it seems to be a good conditioner. I didn't really like the consistency of it. It didn't give me much slip but my hair is shiny and sleek right now. I followed up with the Elucence so I'm not sure if that affects how my hair came out. Was it my imagination or does it lather slightly? AT any rate, I think I'll be saving it for use in the summer for CO washes.

I like the way my hair looks but I don't like to feel obligated to follow up with detangling conditioner. Then again, I only used it once so far. I guess I will reserve my final judgement for the summetime when I have completed the jar.

Daviine was that the new version or the original you were talking about? I think the original is fantastic. I never tried the new one. Thanks.

I have the original formula and it worked very well on my fine hair. I didn't need to follow up with anything else. Let us know how it works for you the next time Davine.

I have the original version. And, I forgot I used it one other time when I wasn't impressed at all (But I didn't leave it on that long). Maybe with each usage, I'll like it more and more?

Maybe I got a less-than-fantastic jar? With so many varying colors and scents....it is not cpompletely out of the question.

I dunno.....maybe my hair just doesn't like what others rave about..... /images/graemlins/crazy.gif /images/graemlins/smirk.gif /images/graemlins/confused.gif

Armyqt I'm glad it worked well for you /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Daviine, girl you are making me cry /images/graemlins/cry3.gif This is one good product. What is your haircare/supplement regime? I want you to benefit the way others are benefiting too /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have been having trouble finding my beloved Tropical Avocado (Dominican version) in NYC recently. But, I finally found two containers of the original formula at a beauty supply. They only had two left!! They also had that new version (packaged like the Nacidit brand in a white container) that has pictures of Avocados on it.

I noticed that the new version doesn't list the ingredients! What is up with that? Are they trying to keep their formula secret since there are so many knock-off out there?

I was tempted to try the new version, but I opted to just still to the old (tested and true) version. I also picked up the Tropical in another "flavor" that has protein.

I really hope that the "improved" version is good, since it seems that the old version is being phased out. /images/graemlins/mad.gif

Davine I'm so surprised you don't really like this conditioner. It is the best conditioner I have ever used. You shouldn't need any other condioner after using this. Try it next time without using anything else after it. Also, try it WITHOUT HEAT and leave it on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it out.

[BTW, yes, it does slightly lather and is pretty good for conditioner washes.]

Are you referring to the Tropical Milk and Honey? I also have this one.

It's not that I don't like it....I just don't love it because I'm addicted to slip. I should also say that I am also 9 weeks post touchup which might be a factor. I may try it when I get a touchup.

I'll try to use it without heat next as well. But I will most likely put it to use in the summer!!!!!!!!!

and yes Blkmane, the Dominican version is difficult to find. Since you are an avid use you may have a frame of reference on availability but trying to track this stuff down gives me a headache.

Which brings me to my next version....how do the other "flavors" compare to the Avocado?

I'm planning on calling MIMOR because I have some questions I want answered. And one thing I definately plan on telling them is to pass the word to the makers of that original version and tell them they have some very dissatisfied customers now that the original have been discontinued. Believe me, when it comes to revenue, and they stop hearing the sound of those cash registers going cha-ching, hopefully they'll have sense enough to listen /images/graemlins/smile.gif

That's a good question. I was wondering the same thing. Now has anyone thought about calling to the Dominican Republic to ask about this? I love this product as a pre-shampoo treatment (the consistency and smell are wonderful). Heck, I hope the new and improved version is just as good.

For thos of u who have tried the original and the new formula, can uplease posta follow-up when u get a chance to let us know what the difference between the two is. Better or worse. Thanx /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Amethyst-

Yes!! Call Mimor. I'll do the same next week.

Allandra- Calling the D.R. is a great idea. I'll call down there and see what's up! /images/graemlins/grin.gif I'll post here after I call Mimor and the headquarters in the D.R.

BTW- I opened a jar of the "new improved version" and it did look and smell pretty much like the original, so I hope that is a good sign.

I have never tested any of the other "flavors" before since I've always been so enamored of the Avocado. (I'm a ONE TROPICAL chick.) /images/graemlins/grin.gif

The one I picked up is not the Milk and Honey, it is the Tropical WHEAT GLUTEN Hair Conditioning Cream with Vegetal Protein. It comes in the same type of jar as the old version, but the top is dark brown and the jar is light brown.

I only bought this cause I'm almost done with all the protein conditioners in my stash (Motions CPR and Rusk Calm).

Amethyst---here is my so called regimen--

I wash my hair 2x a week. I try to rolleset at least once a week. I almost always wash with Creme of Naure Shampoo (yellow/green bottle). I have a lot of conditioners but my favorite conditioners right now are Mizani Moisturefuse and QH Cholesterol. I have been alternating my washes with protein deep conditioners such as ORS and moisturizing conditioners. After washing, I do an ACV rinse before conditioning. I use ELucence MB as a leave-in conditioner or as a rinse out if I don't like the way a conditioner left my hair feeling.

That's it in a nutshell.

The only vitamins I take consistently are B-5 and Biotin but I plan on revamping that soon.

hhaha.. I never even heard of this stuff when I picked it up yesterday. Something was calling me to it, so I went out on the wim(sp?) and purchased it

Boy I can't wait to try it
