Tried my new $74 Sedu out tonight - I think I like my FHI better.

Okay so I used it. It was okay. The design of it really allows you to clamp down on your hair. I think that is why only "one swipe" needed, is reported by so many people.

I started with the same temp. that I use my FHI on. NOPE! Had to lower it - smoke and hair smells! :nono: Lowered the temp and that was better, but it was not getting hair hair straight enough at that temp.

So I ended up breaking out my FHI and finishing up. It actually did a better job without the smoke and all. Maybe because I am just used to it.

I am going to try it again at my next wash. The jury is still out. I think if you don't use lots of product the SEDU is great. But for those of us that so use lots of product on wash day you have to keep in mind that the Sedu DOES give your strands the HEAT! I use a creamy leave-in so I have to watch it.

So, over all FOR ME, I give it a 3 out of 5 stars - it is light and easy to handle, applys heat well (maybe too well ) and the cord does not tangle at all while you are using it.

My hair is scarfed down right now, but I will try to take some pics over the next few days.

Also ladies who ordered the $74 irons and got the free studded bag - FYI - the Caruso setter, some rollers and ends papers fit PERFECTLY in there. I am going out of town tomorrow and that bag came right on time to hold my rollers so I can pack them!

My turn to try out my new Sedu will be on Saturday morning prior to the wedding that I'm in. I hope this thing works. I've heard rave reviews about it and the Maxiglide. I'm hoping that I made the right choice.

Thanks for the review, Honey!

You are right about the amount of product when using Sedu less is better.

I am glad to hear yawl got it for $74 sweet deal.

I used my Sedu on a lock of hair and it was a 3 of 5 for me too. I like how light and compact it is, but it didn't get my ends straight like the detangling pins on the maxiglide does. Nor did it give my hair the same moisture that the steam shot does on maxi. :( I'm trying to get to 21 days with no detangling so I'll give it a "real" test next weekend.
