Transitioning...Should I Comb Coil?

I'm finally getting serious about my hair since I started my transition in July. I met with a natural stylist yesterday and she recommends that I get comb coils for $65. I made an appointment but now I'm ondering if I should really do it. My hair is a bit longer than TWA but even after I get the coils done I know I am going to go back to protective styling and keep wearing a wig. Are the comb coils worth it? Will they help my hair grow? Or should I just continue to protective style my own hair and follow my regimen daily? Or comb coil and still follow the regimen?

HELP!! I really appreciate it.

well.......you could think of the $65 as an investment. How?

carefully watch what she does and the products she uses then you can go home and do the style yourself :yep::yep:

How does your relaxed hair look compared to the natural hair. My biggest concern would be how the style might appear very thin looking on the relaxed parts of the hair.
I think the comb coils were nice when I did it when I first BC (I didn't take pics) but it was soooo short due to shrinkage.
If you think that they will tun out nice you could always do the comb coils every 2-3 months just for a change. They last about 2-3 weeks and then they make a nice coil/twist out that can last a couple of days.

I was wondering the same thing. How much relaxed hair do you have left?

The stylist is actually the owner of MYhoneychild. She will be using those products on my hair. I already know I'm going to spend another $25 on her type 4 hair creme. http://www.myhoneychild.com/inc/sdetail/143 I may get the type 4/3 hair creme.

65 is def an investment. It is a good idea to watch what she does, the at least I can take some product and tips home and try to do it myself.

2-3 weeks seems like a long time for it to last. I was wondering about that...she says I will probably experience a lot of shrinkage--my fear, but at least since I will be protective styling, i'll be ok. The twist outs are a benefit that she mentioned too.

I don't have much relaxed hair at all. I have straight ends, very little. Should I let her cut that off or should I hold on to them until my hair gets longer?

Thank you ladies!!!
