Healthy Hair Quest..
Can those of you who have done this explain the procedures?

In fact, please explain, exactly what Texurized is and what can be done to the hair while Texurized.

Thanks!

Simply put, a texturizer is a relaxer that only softens one's natural curls rather than Permanently straighten it. I have a texturizer and it gives me the option of wearing my hair curly or straight, I can still do things like twist/braidouts, wear braids etc. It offers me alot of styling versatility, most people only relax the curl 75-80%, with texturizers you can also stretch the amount of time for touch-up in between. I relax every 4-5 months (depending on one's texture). Sites such as www.jazma.com goes into further details, alot of the members on this forum such as Den1, have texturizers.

*BTW, I transitioned from relaxed to texturized, I made sure that I had plenty of growth (4-5 inches), and since I was not ready for a BC I gradually trimmed off my straight ends. I wore braidouts/twistouts in between to make sure that I had a uniform texture.

I texturize by relaxing my hair only 50% so the kink is loosened and wavy rather than straight. I started out doing this "accidentally" then when I noticed my hair seemed to be stronger, I continued. I also stretch to every 13 weeks.

Okay, are you saying that one should allow their hair to grow out some before applying a texturizer?

More tips....please

personally that's what worked for me, by growing out my hair a little I was able to do that wash and wear look, I had to really scrunch my ends hard to make them blend in, after my second texturizer I trimmed off most of my straight ends. The site www.jazma.com says that you can do it the way I did or you can also go ahead and texturize your new growth, but opt to wear straight styles to handle both textures, twistouts/braidouts and gradually trim your straight ends off. I hope this helps. Go to member albums or look up Den1 in search function, she had a texturizer and has great results.
