Do you think if I based my scalp with vaseline and then applied phyto II for 15 min without smoothing, I will be able to achieve the texurized look? I don't want underprocessed frizzy hair that's prone to breakage, how do I prevent this?

Hi I texturize with phyto II. I think it's essential to do a strand test. If you have multiple hair textures in different parts of your head you'll have to do multiple strand tests. I think the power is all in the smoothing. If I don't smooth I get nothing but a little shine. And I let it stay on for about 30 minutes. But I am 4 a/b (mostly b).

Thanks for responding! My last relaxer was with phyto II and I think I overprocessed. I know I left it on for like 35 mins. My hair is 4b (some a prob), do you smooth, if so how long? I'm trying to stretch and then texturize for my next relaxer. Your hair is gorgeous btw!

Thanks zoj2. Honestly I don't know how long I smooth. I don't time, I just start from the back (the nappiest) and keep smoothing until I get through my whole head twice. Then I rinse out. HOwever I've got all kinds of textures on strands so I'm nowhere near perfect.

Awww, I miss my Phyto. :( You definitely want to strand test first. Phyto can be a bit unpredictable.
