Touchup ....no progress(pic inside)

I got a touchup this weekend and see very little progress for 3 months.I'm trying not to fret about it but it's hard!I was so looking forward to seeing a dramatic length change from stretching so long.Argg!
I think I'm gonna scale down to every 10 weeks. It has to be breakage causing me to see no length change.I got only a half inch trim if so much. And I had loads and loads of new growth.Sigh
I posted 1 pic under my March album. My digicam is verrry cheap and so the pic has terrible lighting.I'l take more tomorrow most likely.

....umm! It looks like you are about 1 inch above brastrap. Looks like you made wonderful progress to me!! Your hair looks great!

Wow Katie, very sorry to hear that. How are you protecting your ends? Breakage has got to be what's stopping you from seeing progress.

How much length did you actually gain? After 3 months, I'm guessing an inch and a half? And you say you got about a half inch trimmed? So you should be left with about 1 inch?

Looks like progress to me! Your ends look better than they did in the January pic (fuller and more even) AND..your dry hair (march) looks longer than your wet hair (feb). That's great progress!

Dsd...Thanks for the compliment.I'm actually 2 inches from BS.That is the weird part.My hair looks the same length to me but I am actually closer to brastrap. And strangely enough my hair still measures at 21 inches as it is in my siggy.

MizAvalon..This was my 2nd time stretching to 3 months and the first time was no problems at all. This time,I had quite a bit of shedding. And it was much harder to keep my hair moisturized. So I'm figuring I got breakage along with the dryness. My ends were always protected, but still my hair overall would get dry easily.I think I gained 1 inch.Which is not much for me.Through Surge, exercise and my vits I normally gain at least twice that.

DatJerseyDyme...thanks for the compliment! There is a bit of a length change I admit. But I was just hoping there would be more I guess. Now I just sound like a crybaby.I just had expectations of how my hair would be when I touched up after the 3 months and got a bit disappointed when I fell short of my expectations.

I'm trying to look on the bright side.I may not have seen as much progress as I'm used to,but I still saw some. And my hair is quite healthy.

Your hair looks great to me Katie. What is your regimen? How often are you washing?

I have relaxed(Affirm no lye) 4b hair which I shampoo(Nexxus Therappe) once a week.I also deep condition for 20 mins with heat after I shampoo.I'm a real bad PJ so my deep conditioners really vary.I use Le Kair Cholesterol,Biolage conditioning balm,NTM mask from time to time .But I have a whole slew of other stuff I have yet to use, lol.

I usually do conditioner washes in the shower about 3 times a week in addition to my deep conditioning.I use any regular cheap conditioner for this.My favourites are Clairol Daily Defense,Jason Sea Kelp.
After each wash,I use Pantene Detangling leave-in and Loreal Smooth Intense serum and airdry my hair in a ponytail.Sometimes I use Wildgrowth Oil depending on how much newgrowth I have.I rarely use heat.My hair can't take much heat. And my no heat styles don't come out looking right.Hence I hardly wear my hair down

Thanks for the replies everyone!I feel better.I really had wanted to be brastrap by my graduation in mid-June so I guess that's why I was hoping to get a big change in length. So I feel like I'm in some kind of hair race, lol which is really ridiculous since I should still be able to style my hair nicely for my grad, whether brastrap or not.

Your hair looks a lot healthier AND longer. I think your progressing well!!

Thanks! My hair now is actually just as healthy as my January pics.It is just that airdrying my hair makes my ends look really frizzy like they are damaged.I airdry because even though it makes my hair look not too healthy,my hair can't take heat.I'm thinking of airdrying less and using heat a bit more though.I'm tired of my hair always looking like my January pics.

Katie,
Your hair is gorgeous!!! I think you're suffering from "hair anorexia". Someone here started a thread discussing how they couldn't ever really see the progress they were making. You made great progress.

I will bump the thread so you can read what I'm talking about.

Lol!Thanks for the compliment!
*Going off to read that thread*

I think your March picture shows progress from February. Your hair is very beautiful regardless of the lenght (which I do see).

I see progress too. It's there. Concentrate on the health and the length will come. I'm in the same boat as you. Inches away seems like miles away.

Airdrying in a rollerset will leave ends nice and smooth. :yep:
