Shout out to Philly Diva on Youtube and her tutorial on how to take down micros in 2 hours. It always takes me a day or two to do it. This method took me 3 hours instead of 2, but I took breaks to eat and talk on the phone. I started at 11.30 am the other day and my goal was to be done by 4 pm. When I was done I looked at the clock and it was only 2.30 pm! I'm really elated. Now I don't have to pay the ladies at the shop to take it down for me, especially when they are the ones who CUT my hair, a whole 4 inches. God bless Philly Diva, this was a life saver!

Looks good but on her videos she only has human hair braids. Any body try this with synthetic braids.

I'm curious about this as well. My current set of braids were installed with synthetic hair; I want to try this, but I'm not sure it would work the same. & my braids are larger than hers...I guess we'll see :look:

Congratulations on your success! It really is a great method she has.

I got excited til yall said she used human hair. I want to see results on bigger braids with synthetic hair as well.

Otherwise, there is no way in hell i'd pour water and conditioner on my hair only to have it get matted and make the situation worse.

I actually stay AWAY from water in a large dose b/c it will get matted.

So...I attempted this method on a section of my box braids that were installed using synthetic hair & it didn't work well. The extensions didn't become matted, my hair wasn't ripped out, but it surely didn't help much AT ALL !!

I feel like removing braids in this manner will work best on smaller braids because there's less hair for the weave to slip off of & shorter hair because you can cut off much more of the weave.

Thank you sooooo much for posting this informative video. I used this method to remove my humain hair microbraids. I always dread taking down my braids, but this saved me alot of time. I can't say thank you enough.
