My ponytail looks like this (just not as long). 
It's so thin at the ends and thick near the ponytail holder. I've been so tempted to cut my hair even too but then it would be shorter than what I would be comfortable with! But I think with proper care and moisturizing, I can hold out from doing a cut. I'm going to try to wear my hair in a 2-strand twisted ponytail and see how that works for me as a style.
