to all LHCF\'ers -- never skip preshampoo combout

i dont know why i decided to be a big lazyazz yesterday when i washed my hair. Instead of my usual thorough comb through before shampooing, i did a half ass lazy quick comb out to get any hair that may have shed or become tangled. wrong, wrong wrong. i put my hair in a high ponytail as usual (i wash my hair in the sink so i always do this because it makes life so easy during the shampoo) anywhoo i had so many knots and tangles from hair that had shed that i hadnt combed out that i was slowly removing tangles with my fingers for 40 minutes --no lie. my husband felt terrible and started massaging my neck for me while i was bent over the sink

i told him i didnt care if it took an hour...that i wasnt cutting one single tangle out. I got through every single last one working ALOT of my CON over the knots to get them loose so i could start taking them apart strand by strand. Jainy dont play with tangles

after that i finished my shampoo as usual and blowdried and added my Kemi Oyl

my hair is sooooo soft from the Kemi Oyl

i love this stuff....i dont know why i stopped using it for so long. Anyway the pre shampoo combout is a time and sanity saver

I usually comb prior to shampooing but I wet my hair and put cheap conditioner on...then detangle. I find this a lot easier than detangling my dry hair! Give it a try. Plus, it moisturizes your hair a bit for the actual shampoo.

Question: If you do the preshampoo combout thoroughly such that you've cleared all the shed hair, do you still comb out a hair ball AFTER the shampoo and condition? Or are there just a few strands on the comb?

This exactly what I do, especially when I am taking down my 2 stand twists or had a twist out for the week.

yeah i usually have hair that probably shed that day on the comb but the hair i've normally shed the days between shampoos normally comes out during the preshampoo combout. as long as it has the bulb attached i dont freak out after i finish my shampoo but if i was seeing broken pieces i'd probably be a mess
