I just wanted to share tips of how to make sure you get the best deal for your items at drug stores.
I am currently a Pharmacy Technician at CVS/Pharmacy, but I started out as a cashier when I was in high school. I have learned ALL the tips and tricks customers use to get something for practically nothing!

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions and/or comments.

- CVS prints out almost ALL of their coupons on the bottom of your receipt.
Many times you may get $5.00 off of a $25.00 purchase (or something similar), which comes in handy when you need to stock up on hair goods or something for those allergies of yours.
- Check your Sunday paper.
While hubby snatches up the paper for the sports and business section, go to the middle and find those coupon booklets. You'll be surprised how many coupons you may find for items you actually buy.
- Check the stores AD (circular)
In the CVS circular, it shows items that are on sale for the week. It also places an orange dot next to the item if there is a coupon in the Sunday paper for that particular item.
- EXTRA BUCKS
Every three months CVS rewards their customers with a coupon of 2% of everything they purchase at CVS. The latest EXTRA BUCK reward was July 1, 2008 and I myself received $19.50. This EXTRA BUCK coupon you get back may be used on ANYTHING on the store, except prescriptions. It's basically CASH.
KEEP YOUR RECIEPTS!
Refund/exchange products that you don't need or just don't work.
- 100% money back guarantee.
CVS definitely does not play with this rule. ANY item that you are not satisfied with within 30 days CAN be refunded.
Example: I had a customer return a USED brush that she had broken while blow drying her hair. The receipt was about 20 days old. AND the brush had HAIR all in it, as if she swept a hair salons floor with it.

- ASK to speak to a STORE manager if you are being denied your refund.
If you have the receipt, there is NO WAY they can deny you of a refund. If you bought your conditioner on the 25th of June, you can return it on the 18th of July. There should be NO problem at all. If the cashier denies you, ask for the assistant or store manger. *your best bet is to ask for the store manager, but they are rarely there on weekends.
- Bought something a few days before it went on sale.
If you bought your fave Tresseme conditioner full price 3 days before it went on sale, bring it back to be refunded and buy it again for the sale price. Once again, there is NO WAY you can be denied.
- Rainchecks
If you see something in the add that is on sale but is completely out of stock, ask the cashier to write you a rain check. Rain checks NEVER expire, and will guarantee you to get the sale price years after the sale has ended if you want to.
Tips everyone can use.

- CVS Extra Care Card (It's FREE)
In order to have coupons print out on the bottom of your receipt, you must scan your Care Card OR give the cashier the phone number you had registered with the card.
- Sale difference
If you see a bottle of Pantene conditioner on the shelf $0.75 higher than it was at Walmart (or another similar store) you can ask the manager if he/she will give you the price you saw at their competitors store. I have seen a few customers use that trick, most times it has worked.
- Forgot to use that coupon?
Show the cashier the item, receipt, and coupon and let them know you forgot to pull the coupon out your pocket. If it is $2.00 off of a family sized bottle of Garnier Fructis sleek & shine shampoo, you will get the coupon back as cash.
