Seeing the youtube video on hair threading reminded me again just what a great protective style this is, so decided to do it for my DD.
Washed and dc'd her hair with a mix of Mayo and honey (her hair reacts so well with mayonnaise, gets all her tangles out!). Then put my mix of whipped shea button on dripping wet hair and proceeded to thread.

I love how you can see how long her hair actually is. Her shrinkage is amazing!
regular twists tend to shrink up, but i like how the thread keeps her hair stretched, while still preserving the look of a twist...i'm actually fascinated by this lol...
I bulk buy from the supermarket when on sale. I add a tablespoon or so of honey to the Mayo and use it to dc her hair.
Is her hair still wet in the OP pics? Did it dry and keep the length? I know the youtuber says the hair will shrink over time in threaded plaits but I'm wondering if it keeps it's length for at least a day.
