That was a little hard to read...punctuation...but I reread and got it. I think it's not a good thing to delve into people's personal relationships. You know what you are supposed to do and what you are not supposed to do. The church leader is not in your relationship and should not be telling single people to not seek boyfriends/girlfriends to get closer to G-d. One of the ways to fulfill G-d's command for human life is in marrying and having children. So, go figure! This, btw, reminds me of that thread about the Black church keeping it's women from marriage. Sad! Find a new church and get rid of some folks on your FB.

There are some clear guidelines about what men who are marriage material should be like and what marriage material females should be like. There are common sense things that should not happen in a courting relationship (vs dating or FWB where ppl pick and choose as the wind blows-then cry about it later). Outside of that it sounds like she is nosey and controlling. I'm glad you chose to receive the free gift of salvation. Now you start to learn to tell the difference between a real christian and the fakes. Always pray and ask God for his input and direction in all things.

I'm sorry to hear that you and your bff are no longer speaking. I would hope the church leader would be more gracious in her dealings with other couples and help them rather than condemn them. Seek the Lord in guiding you to a new church if the beliefs the church leader and held amongst the other members. Also pray for your bff and that the Lord would reveal to both how you should go forth in your relationship with each and forgiveness. I also hope you can find an "older" couple that can help guide you in your relationship with your bf and with the Lord.

Unfortunately the church holds all types and we just have to pray that the Lord would reveal the errors in their ways and actions just as he does with each of us.
