That may have been the way the inventor intended it to be used but the end users dictated the best way it should be used which is why most manufacturers put their designs on the bumpy side. So at the end of the day we the "people" decided on how it should be used.

I personally bend mine a bit like in the image below. My scalp is not straight so bending them makes it easier for them to lay properly on my head.

ya'll are funny. I knew that straight side up made more sense but bending the bobby pins! Now that is mind blowing. I've always thought they should be curved but i never bent them. thank you abioni

LOL. I saw this. I started wearing them that way and now my hair never feels tight or pulled. I stopped getting headaches too. And Ive seen some girls wear these like this and Ive thought to myself "I hope she knows she is wearing her pins wrong" but maybe Im the one who thought wrong. Truth or lies, my scalp feels better.

I saw this a while ago and have been using my pins "correctly" ever since. I notice that the long side is usually the one that the round part falls off of.

I realized why I dont have this problem.... Most of my pins are staright on both sides.... I was looking trying to associate then it dawned on me.... :ohwell:

I rebuke this thread!

In defiance I will continue to use them flat side down.!!!

Plus, my hair is nappy! Something that straight will be too easily noticed. Standing my ground on this one. :lachen:
