I don't know if you guys remember me, but I posted some pictures of my hair about a month ago. Anyways, lately I've been thinking about transitioning. And yeah, I know, I BC'ed earlier this year...Now I know I won't be doing that again. I'll just transition with my relaxed hair. So, now, it's like I'm starting all over again...:sad:I have a little over a half inch of newgrowth now...I'm just tired of all the chemicals. My hair never fully relaxes anyways. It always comes out underprocessed no matter how long I leave it on. So, I'm texlaxed. Right now, I just need some support. I don't even know my hair type. I know people told me that I had good hair, but IDK. So if anyone who is transitioning or natural can help me (give me links and stuff) that would me perfect...Thanks...

ETA: This is my first poll so bear with me. Lol.

I'm transitioning. How are you planning to transition? I think i'm gonna flat iron every wash day, because i don't do fake hair.

Well I'm natural but I've always been so I don't have any personal experience with transitioning. I'm not sure what kind of links you're looking for but these might help.

I was thinking about flat ironing also. But it takes a long time. Lol. And I don't do the fake hair either. I've transitioned before when I was younger before I knew the term and I just washed onced a week. But I always CW now.

Thanks. I love those links. What's your hair type MSA. And I know that it probably doesn't matter that I'm mixed but my hair is really different. I know that it has a lot of shrinkage (feeling NG) and that it's really spiraly--is that a word. Lol. Like little ringlets and corkscrews.

My hair is 4a. In person it's really easy to see the coils, they don't all clump together but they are defined.

Sprials, ringlets, and corkscrews could be 3c/4a but you won't know for sure until you have at least a few inches of new growth. And really it won't be completely clear until you bc. If you have pics of your last bc that would give us an idea.

I mistakenly deleted my pictures folder... Yeah, I know, stupid. but my hair was only an inch....Then, I texlaxed.

If you want to transition I think you should... I'm apart of the transitioning team!!!! We can transition together (along with MANY other women on this board)...

Well if yall are about to kick off 2010 then let me up in it!!! I am working on a transition. I just went to Sally's today to return some relaxer!!!

:-)

Yeah. I'm going to throw out my relaxer. I don't want to relax my hair ever again. I'm just going to do a really long transition so I'll have atleast some length.

I was the same way. I used to have this thing about fake hair...something about it was just so wrong to me! However I just recently got a sew in with Extensions Plus hair and I am sold! This hair looks so real NOBODY and I mean NOBODY can tell that it's not my own hair. I plan on posting pictures soon.

Awesome! Can't wait to see pics. :) And IDK, my parents always told me to never do any fake hair or fake anything. I don't even do fake nails. I think it just permanently nailed into my head now. Lol.

One question....do you think you're REALLY prepared (emotionally and carewise) to deal w/ your true texture on a full head of natural hair? If not, don't do it...or wait until you're ready. You'll save yourself and us tons of grief.

Lol. Yeah that how my family is. My mom was against me getting a sew in. She said I really needed to think about my decision lol But she loves it now. And boys are staring :lachen:! (in a good way of course)

I was thinking we should start one by the end of November/1st week in December :yep:

Let's keep the 2009 one alive till then

I'm going to bump it now.

Goodie...so ur in charge of it...kay?:drunk: btw Mummysgirl how many inches would you say ur new growth is?

I ask because a lot of posters mention at what month they start having problems but they rarely mention how much new growth they have....like 6 months of growth can mean 3 inches (or less) for one person and 6 inches (or more) for another

I'm totally ready :)

fellow transitioner here! you can do it!!!

it's already a battle to detangle my hair (only 10 weeks post), but i'm going to do my best to transition for at least 6 months.

I am transitioning and am doing well with the new growth(thanks Aussie Moist). My issue is single strand knots. I have quite a few of them. Once I had a hair with 3 knots in it! :nono: My hair is pretty short so I plan to cut gradually. Any suggestions for the knots?
