Hot Oil Treatment
Used for hair that lacks moisture and needs additional moisture to replenish the hair shaft.
Best for dry hair and scalp, chemically treated, and natural hair.
How to use: Massage through wet/dry hair. Cover with a plastic cap. Sit under dryer for 15-25 minutes. Or let sit for 30-45 minutes. Then shampoo and condition.
Suggested products: African Pride Wonder 8 Oil, Khamit Kinks Hot oils

Hot oils are totally optional IMO. You can wet your hair first and then apply the hot oil to seal in the moisture in your hair.

i heard that hot oil treatments opens to cuticle so that the oils can penetrate the hair shaft better.

I've also heard that Hot Oil Treatments aren't good because they can literally boil the hair follicles when heat is added thereby damaging the hair follicle causing hair loss over time or thinning of the hair diameter.

The heat opens the cuticle. That's why deep conditionings are done under a dryer or with some form of heat.
