Your a Eco-Styler Lover too???? I used the pink eco-styler. It has a hold of 7 and leaves my edges soft to the touch.

Thanks girl!

has anyone seen any breakage from eco Styler ?
Also @ what temperature are you ladies flat ironing? I flat ironed on like 280 and my roots are so puffy right now,
I'm thinking I may blow dry on warm and flat iron the very front and put a wig for The back
I don't know but my ends seem even thinner. Possibly my bone straight ends breaking off (I have a nice amount of texlaxed hair around apl straightened and like 5 inches of bone straight ends )

Transitioning with three hair textures :ohwell:

I used to flat iron my texlaxed hair at 270-ish. My natural hair is 395 (one pass).

If I was you I would start trimming the relaxed hair (bonelaxed) ASAP. Trim a half inch or so every month or just cut them off. It will make your transition so much easier.

I had to start trimming at about a year post. Those ends had to go. I just trimmed a little every time I washed my hair. I didn't chop all at once.

Concerning the eco styler:

It depends on the strength. I use the pink one (Thank you soooooooooo much havilland). It has a strength of 7,so it gives good hold but i without that stiff hard crunch. The green one is way to strong for me. I have the argan oil one but have yet to try it.

As for flat ironing. I always use 370. I do 2 passes at the root and 1 pass to my ends using the comb chase method.

No breakage from eco styler for me. I use the brown one..it has a really light hold and sometimes I add castor oil under it when I bun. I prefer a more natural looking (soft to the touch) hold so it works best for me...but I barely use it anyway.

Sorry no advice on the flat iron temperature as I only get my hair pressed at the salon.

A really good youtuber to watch to help manage 3 textures is shorty2sweet. She has around a years worth of natural hair, texlaxed in the middle and bone straight ends and her hair is past her waist. Bomb.com

Do you DC before flat ironing and use protein after?

Sent from my iPad using LHCF

I always use protein and follow w/a moisturizing DC. I'm thinking it is possibly my trip to the Dominican Salon last month

This one was a high doughnut bun done on pressed hair that was over a week old. I was going for a side bang but my bangs have grown out so much...def will get them layered again soon.

This was my rescue attempt from the braidout that went rogue.

This one started as a roller set then bantu knot out.

All of my buns are normally done by creating a high ponytail, separating the hair into 3 sections (one standing straight up and the other 2 sections to the left and right sides), fold the 2 side sections towards the back and pin together, then fold the last section that was standing straight up down and over the side pieces and bobby pin. Hope no one is cross eyed from confusion!

Ooooooooo! Too cute! Let me try this real quick!

Ladies, I'm thinking about doing the buns as a protective style. But had a few questions:

1) What's your regimen?
2) How often / When do you wash your hair?
3) Do you do your buns on dry or wet hair?
4) What products are you using to moisturize / seal and how often?
5) Do you sleep in your buns?
6) How long do you bun before you take down and wash again?

Sorry for all the questions --- thank you!!

1) What's your regiment?
Deep condition once a week. Co wash twice a week.
2) How often / When do you wash your hair?
See above^^^
3) Do you do your buns on dry hair or wet hair?
Both
4) What products are you using to moisturize / seal and how often?
Hot six oil and whipped Gelly by Hairveda.
5) Do you sleep in your buns?
I moisturize and either braid my hair in two braids or just loosen the bun. Then I tie with a scarf. I wet the edges in the morning, apply moisture and gel. Tie down for a few mins and then resecure the bun.
6) How long to you bun before you take down and wash again?
3-4 days.

I did this same routine when transitioning. Only different thing was that I deep conditioned twice a week and I always wet bunned in the shower. I would use the water spray to tame my roots, smooth and then step away from the shower spray to secure the bun.

Hey girlie! For me I wash and DC every two weeks and prepoo overnight with vatika oil the night before my DC..and I apply safflower oil to clean washed hair then apply my leave in then bun my damp hair with a nice thick butter...I love butters! I mist my hair with my spray bottle every night which has water a little aloe Vera juice and leave in in it... But I take my bun down three days a week to moisturize with a butter and water..hope this was helpful
