i would say a spongy 3c/4a. I used to call myself a 4a but they kicked me out of their group! Lol i dont really get it because my curls are small and not silky at all.

Thank you much! The reason why I ask because my little girl has a hair type very similar to yours and I was torn between 4a and 3c.

Hey girlie! For me I wash and DC every two weeks and prepoo overnight with vatika oil the night before my DC..and I apply safflower oil to clean washed hair then apply my leave in then bun my damp hair with a nice thick butter...I love butters! I mist my hair with my spray bottle every night which has water a little aloe Vera juice and leave in in it... But I take my bun down three days a week to moisturize with a butter and water..hope this was helpful

Giiirrrrllll---you have no idea how much I appreciate this! Thank you so much. I didn't think to bun with my hair in the shower. Smart, smart SMART! LOL!

In regards to the Safflower oil…why do you use that before you butter? Also what kind of butter do you use (sorry I'm being so nosey -- just trying to absorb everyone's technique).

Girl I do not mind at all more then happy to help! But safflower oil is a ceramide which in short means it had all types of yummy goodness for the hair and it helps to soften, smooth, and add extra crazy shine to your tresses and its one if my faves and my wet/damp hair loves it! And I use mango butter that I mix with oils and aloe Vera gel and its great leaves my hair soft and not greasy like shea butter used to.

Angelbean thanks for the explanation on the safflower oil. I've been researching ceramide oils all morning now lol---I'm new to everything and realize how little I know about my own hair. I've been reading the book 'Science of Black Hair' and I cannot begin to tell you how much I've learned from it. Couple that with all the great tips and help I've been getting from this forum---I will hopefully reach MBL in no time!!

High "wrap-around" bun for the next 2 days. Ooohhh Lawd, I can't wait till wash day. Bun was created by making a high ponytail, fanning the hair out then wrapping it around a doughnut bun.

Day 1 Wet hands with water before gathering hair into mock ponytail with one hand. Used free hand to dab a little Hick's Edge Control to my hair line before smoothing with a soft brush into a high bun.

Day 2 No water nor product added. Just a true messy & frizzy high bun. Is it bad that I always like days 2 & beyond frizz-city-buns better than the smooth day 1 buns?! At night I just take the bun down, tie a scarf around turban style...then re do the high bun the next day. The buns/frizz just gets bigger and better as the days go by and I love it!

I cannot get a banana clip to close around my hair without breaking. I don't know what I am doing wrong.

I usually place my hair in a ponytail first then I place the banana clip behind the ponytail then take the ponytail holder out. Presto!

twist tucked into my bun. Used marley hair

I started bunning about two weeks ago, and I really like it. My hair always looks neat and professional. I'm also able to dramatically reduce my manipulation. I only comb my hair once a week, when I wash it.

I use a black fabric scrunchie that I picked up at CVS in a pack of 3 or 5. After I put the scrunchie on, I twist it once, and tuck my ends into it. This is the perfect way to create a bun if you have thin or short hair. It take less than a minute to do. If I include spraying my leave in and putting some Darcy coco bean whip in my hair, that brings the time up to two minutes.

I always thought that bunning would be difficult because I assumed that you need to twist the hair around and pin it, but this is a snap.
