The Law- Opinions please

Please give your opinion... as a Christian, what does the law, more specifically, the statement below mean to you?

Matthew 5:17-18 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

I have always believed and been taught that this is in refernce to the ten commandments. Those have not been done away with, as some believe. The ceremonial laws the Jews obeserved are the ones that were done away with. When Jesus came and died for our sins, that eneded the need for animal sacrifice. His blood was shed for us, so animal blood din't need to be shed anymore.

I have been taught this also the only thing is some Jewish ceremonial things we still celebrate like the feast of passover, feast of pentacost etc. because God said in Leviticus 23:21 we should celebrate these forever.
