It is what it looks like. Only I want you guys to join me! Whatever you did to get the texture you have (including nothing at all) love it, and share it with us!
This is meant to be a POSITIVE thread with LOTS of hair porn:grin:. Tell us what you love most about your texture- the look, feel, styles you can achieve, etc.
:needpics:

I am currently transitioning from bone straight relaxed to texturized hair. I am just under 3 weeks post relaxer and I still have some bone straight ends. I love the way my new growth feels to the tips of my fingers and I like the little zig zag coils that grow in when I stretch my relaxer. I love the way they start to clump together. I wonder what my hair would look like all natural??

Here are some texture shots before my last relaxer:

I've been transitioning for 13 months and I ALMOST impulsively BC'd tonight (well the night is still young so who knows...jk). My relaxed hair is just not working for me anymore unless I want to wear my hair straight which I have only done twice in this entire year. Always right before I get in the shower I take my hair out of its bun or jaw clip and just say "Gosh I love my texture, I can't wait to be completely natural". Unfortunately I'm in the Big Headed Beauties Unite club so I would look funny if I BC'd. I've had past SL all my life, now at WL. About 6-7 inches of NG.

I love my texture because it seems to be always evolving & very moody. But it's mine, all mine!

I'm transitioning for the most part but but but I love my texture because

Cute thread OP. As I've said before, I adore my hair. These two posts kinda tell you why:

  • Versatility and never boring. I love that I can enjoy any and every hairstyle I want. I can go from short to long, straight to coily, wear braids/twists etc without worrying about unraveling.

  • Inexpensive hair. Besides shampoo, conditioner, ACV and plastic caps, I really don't spend a lot of money on my hair. S Curl is used when I wear my hair out and if I'm not wearing it straight. I last used it in March and so a bottle lasts me forever.

  • Soft, touchable hair. OK, if HIH disease is not your thing, then this would be a con but for me, I love the way my hair feels. When it was straight, I hardly cared to play with it. Now, you can hardly keep my fingers out of it. It feels so nice to touch.
I honestly can't think of anything I don't like about my hair. I don't even get SSKs that I can think of. I don't spend hours detangling. My hair never feels like a chore to me at all. I think a lot of it has to do with being so self-centered that I took time to get to know my hair--not to make it do what other hair does--but to get to see what it alone can do. I've been natural for more years of my life than relaxed, but it wasn't until 2003 or 2004, that I really took notice of my hair and really started to see what it looked like and learned how to handle it. I finger-comb a lot (that HIH disease thing is serious I tell ya!), and love to feel and see it go ping! I dunno, I'm Nonie and I'm addicted to my hair.

It can also be stretched in braids so it appears to have no pattern.

It can also be straightened with heat so it looks like it has no bends at all.

But when washed, Nonie's 4B hair shrinks back to its nappy/kinky/tightly curled/tightly coiled state. And I think it's beautiful in all its forms, even when it's nappy (and for those who haven't seen my lectures on the topic of the word nappy, I take it literally ie a word that means kinky or tightly coiled--the perfect description of my hair, not whatever other meaning folks wanna apply to it:

Did I mention that my hair is so well-behaved that it does what I tell it to do and stays that way till I say it's time for change?

My name is Nonie and I'm madly in love with my hair.

I'm starting to love my texture.. wore my hair in a braid out last night i front of my friends and planning on wearing a braid out in public today!

NATURAL TEXTURE

Cool thread!

Even though I've always known of my hair (never relaxed) it took a long time to really appreciate my texture.

I love my texture whether I am natural/relaxed. When I am natural I have big nappy curls. And when I am relaxed my hair is poofy. I should post pics but y'all can look at my avatar. LOL!

I am also transitioning from bone straight relaxed to texlaxed. I'm in my 42 week. I texlax every twenty weeks and am almost 2 weeks past due on my texlax (3.28.13 was supposed to be the day). I looooove my new texture. I wouldn't dare BC my bone straight hair now. I figure it will grow out by this time next year. I am currently between CBL and APL.

Here is my hair roller set and wrapped.

Lucie, I don't remember if I've ever seen your curls. Got pics? Pretty Please?

I love the uniqueness of my hair. I've never seen a head of hair with the texture I have from texlaxing. Most of my hair is wavy or curly. My avatar is am older photo I'll upload one. I also like that I can masquerade as natural or relax as i feel. I'm relaxed but TELL ME I'M NOT A CURLY HEAD

I've always loved my texture but never knew what to do with it prior to going natural the second time. Braid outs, and twist outs have improved hugely, and are my daily styles. It's the perfect mix of kinky and curly that works well for me and I love it.image.jpg
