The Ends of My Hair Is Dry and Breaking: Help!!

Ladies, I am at my wits end. My ends are dry and breaking off. :wallbash:

I shampoo with Elucence Moisture Benefits, deep condition with Elucence Moisture Balance then I use the Moisture Balance as a leave-in (maybe this could be the problem :perplexed). I just started using Elucence a few months ago after I took my braids out and I really like them.

I am currently using Jane Carter Nourishing Cream to moisturize and Nourish & Shine to seal. Maybe I should seal with EVOO or something else instead. :scratchch Before I started using the Jane Carter products, I was using ORS Olive Oil Moisturizer. If I recall, my ends wouldn't take the moisture then either and would become dry and want to break on me.

Yesterday I tried the Porosity Control conditioner after I did my deep condition. My hair felt nice yesterday, but this morning when I was combing my hair, it felt tangled and dry on the ends, but the top part felt good. :scratchch Now that I think about it, my ends were never this dry before. I do hide my ends when I style my hair.

My hair seems to hate protein (ask MT) and can't keep in moisture. Please help.

Have you tried doing a wet bun everyday, that might help. In the morning i spray my hair with water (bottled), add my moisturizer, seal with oil and wrap it in a bun. My hair stays moist all day and i haven't had a problem with dryness on the ends.

maybe you could try dusting or trimming since the you're only experiencing dryness at the ends?

I want to wear buns, but personally I think that my hair was long enough to create one before. I use hair accessories like these for my updos:

I have an appointment the first week of Sept. to get my hair done, I know she will trim it then.

Try baggy'ing the ends at night with your favorite moisturizer. It always works for me..

I am willing to try something like this.

Do you clarify?

No I don't. I tried Keracare 1st Lather once though and :nono:. I don't know if that counts. I always feel like my hair would end up dry even if I use moisturizing products afterwards. My hair is very unruly. I would try it though, do you have any suggestions of good clarifying shampoos?

V05 Kiwi Lime is a gentle (and cheap!) clarifying shampoo. It could be that you have build-up from the products you are using to protect your ends, and that build-up is now PREVENTING the products from moisturizing and protecting your ends.

 Ok, thank you. How often do you clarify?

I've had the same problem and nothing has worked but baggying my ends at night. The next morning they are soft and supple and last that way all day. I don't think I have the right moisturizing products yet, but this works for now as I continue my hunt. BTW, I use NTM leave-in sealed with a little oil or vitapointe. HTH

I feel you. I've tried so many different moisturizers and none of them seemed to work out on my hair. The Jane Carter products seem to work, but I think I do need to incorporate clarifying into my regimen. I probably have product buildup. I also do not clarify before I try new products so that could be a part of my problem. We'll see.
