The Church Dance...What are your comments?

I've actually grown to appreciate christian hip hop a little more. I think people should be able to use their talents to honor God, even rappers. I think sometimes it sounds wordly, and can remind people of being in the world which is an obvious problem. We know 'our' people are caught up on beats, so christian rap can actually be a good tool to reach the people. There's really no scripture in this song though. If they had more scripture I think it could be a good tool to combat all the carnality that is sold through rap music just because people 'like the beat.'

I'm a fan of a lot of Christian hip hop artists...but dis rightchere...It was a bit funny for teens, but I don't get the purpose aside from that.

Hmm, I don't know how I feel about that, seeing how some of the moves are questionable-I could definitely see those moves in a club somewhere for sure...so I don't know...

I think if they toned down the dance a little, less sexual in the description as well ("bend it over...") and removed the premise of the girl in the game zone looking like a groupie, it may be okay. I give them the "A" for effort and creativity but I don't know about the rest personally.

I go to a church that is very culturally relevant in how it ministers and we incorporate Christian Hip-Hop and dance in our Dance ministry but they remain very tasteful in their dances. I have never seen them do anything that could be misinterpreted as provocative (male or female) in their routines.

I'm all for the young people praising God how they know how. God created music, not the devil. At the end of the day, who is getting the Praise is what matters. Sometimes we can start out just having fun and get caught up in the Holy Spirit for real.

This reminds me of Eddie Long's dance, Cross it Up

i never saw this...

OT: not that it should matter but last week i saw eddie long on tbn and i felt some kind of way. he had on an extra tight muscle shirt and jheri curl toupee that distracted me from what he was saying. :ohwell: the toupee was odd but the shirt was like a female preacher wearing a tight skirt or something. i dunno.

:lachen: OK that was funny... I know what you mean, about his muscle shirt and hair. Saw him on TBN, too. Good preacher, though!
