I keep hearing that the Chi is the best flatiron ever! Can you really tell the difference between it and other ceramic flat-irons?

Absolutely. I bought mine about 2 years ago for $138 and have never regretted it. Everyone ALWAYS wants to borrow it in which I reply

I'm very protective of my CHI iron

I actually chopped ALL my hair off and I STILL won't let anybody take it.

I was lucky enough to buy mine from a member here for $50! It was worth taking my chances on liking it for that price because the hot tools, etc at sally's cost around $40 so Id definitely pay $50 for top of the line.

It works really good, but Im still learning how to use it for the best results. But it does give that silky look similar to the salon.

YES YES YES it is really worth it! I don't own one, but we have them in my cosmetology class and my stylist has one. It's great.. and it works as a curling iron too

. And as Leslie said, it DOES give a really silky look and feel.

I love it so much I have one on hold at Trade Secret (1") it costs $119.99.

What's the difference between CHI and Jilbere' flat iron? I've got the Jilbere' Flat Iron, but I'm seriously tempted to buy a CHI one. They're having a sale on them now so I wanted to take advantage of the sale.

I have owned the jilbere, HAI and CHI turbo. By far the Chi is the best. The Chi is 100% ceramic. The other two are coated or something. The CHI doesnt snag your hair and it glides smoothly through your hair. There are temperature settings on the Chi Turbo. If you need to straighten your roots well this is a great option for you heat users. I dont use it often. If I had my choice of blowdryer, curling iron or ceramic CHI, it would be the CHI hands down

I bought a Chi Flat Iron and it really does get your hair straight but I found after I used it a number of times my ends starting to split and my hair got really dry it was worse than using an a pressing comb in the heated oven. So now I am trying to get rid of mine, but if your asking if it straightens well then yes it straightens hair very well!

I had bought the jibere one from sally's initially and quickly returned it because it didnt get hot enough to do much at all for my hair...and the one I got didnt have a temp setting.

Salliquay, were u using the original CHI without the temp setting? I think that one gets much hotter than the turbo one. how often were u using it?

I have the CHI Turbo and love it! It works incredibly well. I've had a Conair, Jilbere, and Solano ($$$) in the past and the CHI is by far the best. Heat makes me nervous so I only use it when my roots are starting to get long (around four months) and on special occassions. I never let it touch my processed hair. I don't think I could last as long between touch ups without it.

I also like my CHI a lot.I rarely use it since that baby gets hottt. It does an excellent job at straightening my 4b roots.
