The 7 deadly sins

Lust: Depraved thought, unwholesome morality, desire for excitement, or need to be accepted or recognized by others.

Gluttony: Thoughtless waste of everything, overindulgence, misplaced sensuality, uncleanliness, and maliciously depriving others.

Greed:
A strong desire to gain, especially in money or power.

Sloth:
Apathy, idleness, and wastefulness of time.

Wrath: Inappropriate [unrighteous] feelings of hatred and anger.

Envy:
Grieving spite and resentment of material objects, accomplishments, or character traits of others, or wishing others to fail or come to harm.

Pride: Pride is known as the father of all sins. Pride is a desire to be more important or attractive to others, failing to give credit due to others, or excessive love of self.

They are not listed as the 7 deadly sins, that's a man-made title and I think most are found in proverbs. But wow, they all sound like common pitfalls for mankind.

Wastefulness of time - being idle. Need to be accepted or recognized (sounds like ADD) .

They call it "The sin of doing nothing" I saw pamphlet on this.

The 7 deadly sins were presented by Pope Gregory the Great in the sixth century, as sins against yourself not others. These sins destroy your spiritual health. There were originally 8 deadly sins as per John Cassian ( a French monk) or Evagrius of Pontus (Greek theologian) or whomever you want to believe. Pope Gregory just shorten the list to 7.

As per my understanding the Catholic Church contrasts the 7 deadly sins with the 7 cardinal virtues.
