That's It! No more salons! (RANT)

GO GET YOUR MONEY REFUNDED. Insist and you can get it done.
They might even surprise you and cooperate without making you BLACK-OUT!

I'm so serious!:angry2:Call first and let them know what happened and why you are displeased and then go there and get your money back.

Repeat business and word of mouth is the bread & butter of the hair salon.
They cannot allow you to have a bad experience without attempting to meet your needs. :look:

I agree.. complain and try to get a refund...If they are a big chain of salons that have a client/customer relations dept...I would go to them...I recently did this and was able to receive a refund for poor service. I say send a letter to state board if necessary. Leaving you with relaxer on your head while he is on the phone is down right dangerous....These "stylists" need to be taught a serious lesson for real...

Well I washed last night and used Porosity Control and Fermodyl....my hair feels a lot better and very little breakage/shedding. Imma do an apHogee intensive keratin in a few days...I think after that my hair should start to feel normal again.

Good luck girl and keep us updated!:)

Ugh! I'm sorry that happened.
Man, you guys are making me think now. My last relaxer was January 12 and I'm in braids now. When I take them out I was going to get a henna and relaxer. Maybe I need to try this myself???:ohwell: Hmmmm I have't done my own relaxer since I was a teenager and had no money for salons!

But thanks to LHCF I'm much more knowldegable and probably do this myself without beating up my hair. Hmmm we'll see...

i understand your pain. i had a bad situation with my last relaxer which was about two weeks ago. i walked out of the salon without her finishing my hair. i have decided to try to do my own relaxers now. i used to think it wasn't safe because i am no professional, but it seems like these days professional stylist don't know anymore than i do.

OK!! They DON'T!!

I just don't understand these stylists.

Grr...it's been a minute and I'm still having shedding/breakage. I dropped a grip for some Aveda DR...hopefully that'll get my hair back to normal.

Yet, I'm decided. I'm not gonna pay 85 bucks for this mess. I can jack my stuff up this bad at home. For now I'm DIY. No more salons for chayil. If I can't do it myself it won't be done.

This is exactly why I also have not gone to a stylist. After a so-so job in January 2006, I have not looked back. Even then, I was going to the salon three times a year and each time I went, my hair wasn't at its best. I just did a relaxer at home with a box relaxer (ORS no Lye) and my hair is the straightest that it's been in 2 years. No more stylists for me, well exept for annual trim.

Uh! I went to the salon to get a relaxer the day before yesterday. I asked him in advance if he had Vitale pro, and he said yes, but when I got there he only had designer touch.

Well, I was 11 weeks post with wonderful new growth and I've been nurturing my ends like crazy. I had zero breakage and was only sheddnig a few hairs a day.

Well, this idiot puts this relaxer on and it starts burning like crazy. He was just slapping it on ...way past the new growth onto the previously relaxed hair. Finally we get to the sink and he leaves me at the sink with the relaxer on my head while he takes a call.

Not to mention, I couldn't even talk to him while he was doing my hair because he had three guys sitting right there talking about some business venture he's involved in. I couldn't get in a word about my hair without loudly interrupting.

Finally he washes it out the relaxer out, and I'm totally not sure he used neutrilizer shampoo.

When I left my hair was soft and bouncy (probably thanks to the smoking flat iron he was using), but the next morning it was crispy and limp. Since that time I'm shedding a lot and breaking a moderate amount -- well a lot compared to before.

So tonight I'm gonna do a protien treatment and a good moisturizer and pray for the best.

One good thing was that my ends were in such a great condition that even he had to admit I didn't need a trim.

Yet, I'm decided. I'm not gonna pay 85 bucks for this mess. I can jack my stuff up this bad at home. For now I'm DIY. No more salons for chayil. If I can't do it myself it won't be done.

A number of years back, when I had a relaxer, I went to my regular stylist (whom I loved by the way...she was great) wasn't there for a wash/set/wrap. Anyways, I let one of the other ladies do my hair. After she finished, it wasn't like my usual, but it was ok. The next day, it was limp and dry. I went back there and told them to do it over that I was not going to pay $45 for my hair and the next day it was shot. They did it over with no charge.

I say...go back to him and let him know you are not happy with your hair and that it is dry and breaking. If you don't let him know, how would he know that he isn't doing a good job?

Sorry to hear that happened to you, I've had my share unprofessional stylists too. You might think about writing a review of your experience on somthing like citysearch.

GoodNESS! I hope it came with lunch and a backrub.

Sorry, this guy is just lazy does not care about your hair. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY EMAIL HIM! Otherwise how will he know he screwed up, and how can he change?

It's a shame but we're going to have to start getting MILITANT and B*TCHY when we're paying for services and we're unhappy. There isn't any reason you should have had to endure that, and then pay $85 for it, and possibly have damage to it on top of that!

There have been many times in the past when I would get up and go to the shampoo bowl even without the stylist whether they were finished applying the relaxer or it had time to work. You are very fortunate to not have gotten those open, pussing, sores that can come with chemical burns.

I am so sorry this happened to you.

Good luck to you!

Wow, wow. Sorry just too many bad stylist just out there to make a buck.
You might want to see this thread (even though it's in another state), I think you will see other people there (including myself) who no longer go to stylists.

Yikes. That's dangerous. I would have gotten up and washed it out myself. I'm sorry you had to go through that, though.

I think Aubrey Organics GPB conditioner is a good protein conditioner. You leave it on for 15 on dry hair, but I do it with wet hair. You can also try a cholesterol conditioner for added softness.

I love the Aubrey products line.
I wish you the best.

That's why I've been doing my own for about 3 years now:) ... I don't even want them to breath on my hair.

I so totally agree with Missey!

I had a friend who lost a great deal of hair after going to a salon. The lady just told her that she had a lot of dead, damaged hair and that she would give her a discount on the treatments that she needed. I told her to sue but she decided not too. Needless to say she doesn't go to salons anymore and her hair looks so much better.

It's so sad that we have to learn the hard way.
I'm glad she's doing better.
I was told this same story many times and it's just another way to do away with your hair and continue to damage it.
Humm... :sekret: I wonder if that is why a lot of them are very secretive about what they use?

Oh no!! Sorry to hear that happened to you!
I went throught the same experience in 04 sine then stayed away from those money hungry, sissor, heat and relaxer happy salons:)

Do a deep conditon and moisturize. Hopefully everything works out.
