I gave up on salons today

Well, I finally gave up on salons today, I've been thinking of it for a while, I notice my hair was not improving as it should. When I did my hair myself it was a lot thicker. I'm relocating to a primarily caucasion town in a month and I needed to figure out how to do my hair. So I went to the store today, I bought a bonnet dryer. I did my first self relaxer using N'gone thanks to souther girl's self relaxing tips. I'm going to give myself a trim as well. I'll keep you guys posted. Can you please share your tips for caring for your hair at home.

I feel you. I gave up on them 3 months ago after my hair got thinner and thinner.

For rolersetting, I have:
spray bottle
dryer
magnetic rollers
leave in conditioner
duckbill clips
hair net

I'll do my first self relax next weekend. Oh and you might need some ear protectors for when you sit under the dryer.
