This is the weave that I want, I'm purchasing a Halley's Curls relaxed silk closure, but I'm not sure what hair I should get. In this picture Kelly's hair looks like its straight but just curled with a barrel iron. I'm more concerned with where online I can buy good long lasting hair for a decent price for 12 inches.

I'm considering the Virgin Malaysian Remy its 80 bucks for 4 oz or the Salon Relaxed, but the Salon Relaxed is currently sold out.

Any suggestions on another vendor comparably priced to HC? EP was too expensive.

UPDATE!!!! This is what I purchased.

I purchased the HC relaxed silk closure, and I like it, the scalp will need to be dyed.

I also ordered (2) Malaysian Remy 12 inches.

1. I HATE HATE HATE it. It looks like cheap hair from the BSS not quality remy hair. The cuticles don't appear to be going in one direction, there is a layer of hair about an inch long right at the weft.

2. I expected it to come packaged differently, but it came like normal BSS hair.

I am not pleased with this hair at all. I'm not sure if the relaxed texture is better quality or what but at this point I just want to return it, but the website says refunds are charged a 25% restocking fee. (SMH)

I'm running out of time before my hair appt. and I don't know what to do???????

Don't know enough about weaves to offer any suggestions. Just wanted to say that its very pretty. Its so shiny it doesn't look like hair. Maybe barbie hair. Anyway, I'm sure it will look great on you.

just an fyi on the malaysian hair...it isn't really "malaysian." it's a combo of asian and indian hair and sometimes it isn't virgin it is processed. still can be decent quality though and that's not a bad price

Yep, it would definitely have to be processed in order to get looks like the gentle wave relaxed hybrid or the salon relaxed look. But this is true for all relaxed looks as indian remy hair doesn't have the appropriate texture to mimic afro hair that has been relaxed.

I think Lanik's Virgin hair is nice from the comments and pictures I've seen. Price is little more than Halley's. Others have mentioned Wagman's hair and also Indique. Both are more than Halley's but can be used for multiple installs. Halley's seems to have thin ends so you need at least 1-2 inches longer than the length you normally use to cut these ends for a thicker apperance. That was my experience with Halley's anyway. Check out BHM for more info on vendors if you havent already.

actually virgin indian hair blends really well w/ relaxed and natural hair. i've worn it while relaxed and now that i'm natural...and i have friends that are natural and it's all they wear. i think the key is finding a good bundle. the pics of most celebs posted on here are wearing virgin hair...not processed. roller-setting or doing big barrel curls will give the look of kelly's pic.

Oh, definitely blending is fine. But virgin indian hair tends to be baby fine and shinier than the salon relaxed looks sold by Halley's, EP, etc. Also to get the gentle wave relaxed look sold by Halley's processing would be absolutely necessary because the hair has a uniform slightly coarser wet and wave thing going on that doesn't happy naturally in indian remy hair. Have you seen it? It's very hard to explain. I've used both and it's a pleasant difference. It'd be hard for me to go back to indian remy after having the relaxed texture look.

Just want to thank all of you ladies for your responses. I'll be sure to post pictures of the finished product.. Can't wait...

A stylist told me that look was a lacefront. I think the halleys curls gentle wave relaxed might be a good look for you. Straightens easily but you can get a curl with slightly more body pretty easily, also. Here's a HC Gentle Wave Relaxed install that is bananas: http://public.fotki.com/kiery/halleys-curls-gwr/

If that's a lace front that's a great job it looks soo real. I guess that's what you can get if you have lots of money.

Thanks, that's good to know, I just hope these companies wouldn't be dishonest about the hair they sell. But you never know...

Sheba, Do you have pictures of both or either?
I know which closure I'll be purchasing but, I'm still undecided on which hair to get or which texture rather.
Thanks!

I have a couple pics of my indian remy lace front from when I used to wear it, but they don't showcase my hair well. I actually was just taking a pic of me, at the time, and not my hair. But I'll post them, anyhow, in case they'll be of help to you.

ETA: I was only able to find this one of my indian remy lace front. My very edges only are out and the hair is very nice.

My Halley's curls gentlewave relaxed hair looks like the girl from the fotki. I have that hair; but it is not installed yet. I'm enjoying wigs right now and hadn't really considered putting it in. I'm thinking of installing it for my upcoming cruise, though. If I decide to do that, I'll come back and share some pics with you.

@sheba1 i guess it's a matter of preference. the "relaxed" processed hair i've worn in the past were always a huge disappointment and the texture was too rough for me. it would never get as sleek as my own hair.

Have you checked into hairesthetic.com? I've ordered just about every curly pattern they have (except the kinky curl) and I will tell you that the texture of Halley's miami ripple is comparable to hairesthetics "deep wave"...I say this because once you take it out of the pkg and loosen the curls, it looks exactly the same

I don't always seal, but I can attest that this hair last over a year and I don't get shedding or tangling...but then I don't get the extra long lengths either (I just stay in the 12" range)

hope this helps
