How much would you say your hair is texturlazed? Is your wholehead texturized or are you transitioning? If you have them, please post pics of your wet texturized hair and also of your straightened hair when you straigten it. Please share your method of straighting, what you use to straigten as far as product and if you have to deal with your hair poofing or frizzing at the current level you are texturized.

TIA:D

I usually get my hair professionally straigthened. My styles washes, Deep treats, and blows out my hair in sections and then go over it with a flat iron. HTH!:)

My hair is texturized: I had the beautician quickly comb through a mild Affirm relaxer (approximately 8-10 minutes total, if that long). I had been transitioning from relaxed to natural using braids and twists prior to this process. I then BC ---> TWA! I use Surge Plus 14 spray, Surge Woojee Creme, Elasta QP Mango Butter and a mix of Affirm Essential Oils for Hair and pure Coconut Oil (which, when left in my linen closet, is liquid!) on a daily basis.

It's growing... but not fast enough...
:swearing:

I hear ya Bamabelle! Girl, if I don't get some mo hair on my head with a quicknesss. I'll..... I'll.... I guess I just have to wait for it to grow :ohwell: :D :D I like your name by the way.

I don't have any recent pictures of my air-dried hair down (I'll take some and add it to the album). I have some of it bunned, but I think you can see the texture. There's about 1.5 inches of new growth and it is completely dry.

This is day 2 of a rollerset w/ the roots pressed.

The avatar is day 1 of this rollerset. For rollersets I used a heat protectant (can't remember what it's called), ORS Carrot Oil Cream, and IC Moisturizing Treatment. Day 1 was a little puffy because I didn't let it dry completely before I took the rollers out. For wash and wear days I style with CHS (http://frizzoff.com/home.php?CC=US&INT=NO) and gel on the new growth.

I'm texturized with affirm fiberguard mild relaxer. I self texturized left on the 1st time for only 7 mins to my whole head. Now for touch ups just like a regular perm with a processing time no longer than 10 mins. (i process 1/2 my head, then the other 1/2 to try to avoid over processing.)
I have a full album of wet, dry and curled style pics. Please feel free to check them out. I've always envied curly/wavy hair not knowing I could achieve those same looks with what I have. My only goal now is growth for more style options.

I am texturized. Multiple textures due to doing my own touchups but all texturized. The last time I straightened was some time ago. I don't mind frizz....I like big hair.

All of my hair but about the last 3 inches is texlaxed. I am not transitioning. I have a few pic's in my lonei3 album of both wet and dry. To straighten my hair I rollerset under the hooded dry, it comes out fairly frizzy these days so I flat iron some of it afterwards. I set with NTM Leave in and dont add any extra product t set it. It only poof's if I airdry loose, and actually, it does poof a little in the summer.

Beautiful heads of hair ladies! I plan on texturizing soon and was wondering how challanging it would be to wear straight looks without damage. Of course your hair is more fragile when you add a chemical. I am trying to come up with some ideas of how texturized I can be with the least amount of breakage.

Thanks so much for responding!

Thank you, ma'am (S_Terry)!

BTW... I notice folks talking (posting) about "straightening" their texturized hair... I never did that... Didn't even know I could do it! lol Now, I've gone and gotten these doggone two-strand/kinky twists! Who knew there was some versitility in that TWA?

good thread..i am natural now but i do plan on texturizing ..but i am a long ways from that now..maybe in another year or so...i want may hair to be brastrap b4 i do so...

I'm texturized too. I'm managing ok with the roller sets but I still have to go over my hair with the flat iron to get it straight. When I take my braids out I'm going to try Lonei's method.

I'm not transitioning. Most of my hair is texturized by my own relaxing. I have new pics (and old) of my wet hair but no straightened pics. I've never straightened my hair with heat, I use rollersets which works pretty well but my hair still has texture. I don't have anything to straighten my roots so I leave it "as is".
