I got a texturizer about a month ago at a dominican salon and my hair is so soft. I haven't had a relaxer since 03/04 it was so thick before she pit the chemical in but now it is really soft still. Should it be this way. It doesn't feel bad but I love thick hair. The product she used was in a blue container. I asked her to use affirm but she said it would make my hair too straight.

I wouldn't know if your texturize is the way its supposed to be because everyone's hair is different. A lot of it depends on your hair type and how long your hair was processed. I do know for sure that the purpose of texturizers is to not make your hair straight. Texturizers are supposed to loosen your curl, so your hair won't be as thick as it was before. Your new growth will be thicker when it comes in.

Do u know the name of the product? I didn't know that Dominicans are familiar with texturizers. What are the results of your texturizer ? Is your hair mostly curly, straight, or wavy?

Another thing, kimlove, is that after a couple weeks pass, the hair tends to revert a lil' bit--so you may get the thickness you like back..... Whenever I retouch my texturizer, my hair is always silkier and the curls looser for the first couple weeks after....

Okay...I just left again there is such a language barrier that it is hard to ask what products are being used. I know it is texturized b/c it is definately not straight straight. She told me I needed a perm and I don't think I do. My hair is soft.
