Hi ladies, I just wondered if Texturisers/ hair Softners give hair a better chance than normal relaxers. I knw chemicals r chemicals, but if these products don't break our hair down as much it can only be a good thing right. Leaving the hair will more body, I know for some there hair has to be fully straight and that's cool. But I have saw some wonderful heads of hair that are not fully relaxed. I am 12 weeks post and I am thinking abt a non relaxer option, but I have a few questions:
Texlax? Is that a normal relaxer but underprocessed
Texturiser, is it the same as above?
Hair softener, is it the same as above? Lol

Any ladies that use these methods, did u switch from relaxers!!
Did/have u seen better results?

Thanks ladies
Kizzy

I think it matter which product you use, some are lye and others no-lye but they are all basically the same thing.

Texturiser, is it the same as above? Yes
Hair softener, is it the same as above? Lol Yes, don't here this one that often so I would have to look at the particular product to be sure.

Did/have u seen better results? I've used texturizers in the past and I switched to relaxers because:

1) There are more (better quality) relaxers to choose from.
2) Most texturizers are no-lye which doesn't work well for me because of issues with dryness.

Thanks ladies

The no-lye in texturizers is a complete :nono: took my a year to cut out AFFIRM Fibreguard No Lye that made my hair so dry

I certainly need to look into texlax then, but as I go to a salon, how do I explain texlax?? Do I just hurry her along:grin:
