Textures and Tones Again...

I was a bit annoyed with my first coloring attempt... The Honey Blonde didn't lighten well enough (I didn't use the booster - which is basically bleach) so it turned a reddish orangey brown shade. I have natural hair so perhaps that made it a bit tougher. I waited two weeks ( so I could try every style and see what the true color result was) and colored with the Bronze because I prefer ash or blue/violet-based colors on my hair - but it turned out BRIGHT, esp. the front, top, sides - think Lindy's hair x 2 - same color but brighter because the second color attempt lifted my hair about 1 1/2 - 2 more levels... I should have used 10 volume developer so I could just deposit the color without any further lightening

Soooooooooooooo, the first few days my hair looked like it could glow in the dark, but now I have some roots showing and I've faded the color a bit with hot olive oil/water/color fading hair products... I think it's gonna turn out okay. But I'm only coloring once a year though... Hair seems to be doing fine - I can say I have no breakage, just natural day-to-day shedding so I seem to be making progress.

So yeah, like Tracy said, just aim and hope for something close to what you wanted...

A few months ago I was going to dye my hair this bronze color, but I changed my mind and got a refund. I'm glad that I did that because I really would've messed my hair up. I'll stick with dark semi-permanent colors.

Put a rinse over it...no?

Like a ash based dark blonde? It'll tone down the brightness (I plan to do the same soon) and even that color out some...

I'm thinking about it - but I don't want to use anything like those long lasting semi-perms that you have to mix - I don't want to push it to the point it gets damaged... I could only consider things like Beautiful Collection Semi-Perm, Jazzing, Colourshines... Right now, I've been wearing a net/cap weave for a style change... I keep my hair conrowed back underneath, so I'll just let it be for a while. But thanks for the suggestion - do you know of any good shades?

With what I think probably happened colorwise on you (because I went a similar route the first time around) try Jazzing Creme Soda and then if it works try matching shades from other brands roughly to that. It's a dark ash blondish color - looks brown in the bottle but it's not. It's way more sheer.

I agree - I think the formulas you are considering are all you should do right now.
