Yeah I don't care if the product is cheap. If it works for me then we are all good. There are some cheapies at the BSS that works. Maybe it's a drugstore thing because most of the products in the drugstores don't like my hair.
I believe in using what works for my hair...so whether its Main N' Tail at $6 a bottle or Pureology at $60 a bottle, I'm using it. I don't think that price and quality necessarily go hand-in-hand. There's some cheap goodies as well as some higher-end ones. My hair and it's health is priceless to me. So I do what I have to do and pay what I have to pay.
yes, indeed my product choices helped me achieve my hair goals so far. I wanted to achieve shiny dark hair and Henna, Amla, and my herbal products allowed mer to acheive this. Due to not using enough protein in the past, i got a lot of breakage, lekair cholesterol cream, aphogee 2 min, ORS Moisturisers saved my hair, and made it stronger.
Hmm...
I tried Keracare and its good stuff but.....
I now use 6 main products, shampoo conditioner deepconditioner leavein serum and oil (reg all purpose oil). total of all those products was $25 some of them i have had for months and they are still over half full, the oil has lasted almost a year.
I have not had hindered progress.
I have tried the ORS relaxer in the box when I was away from home and I have a tub of mizani that I paid $20 and I love them both....
Guess my hair is not that picky. I am tempted to try aveda and I have a sample of DR. In the past I tried it along with paul mitchell (carols daughter and all kinds of other more pricey stuff) and I still think my hair really doesn't care.
I think I just had a problem with thinking I didnt have to moisturize (i wanted it to be light and swinging) so my hair used to be DRY DRY DRY!
For me, it all about the Africa's Best Organics products. I love the Kids' Line so much. I also love Paul Mitchell and now that I know the differences in Shampoo, Protein, etc. i understand why my hair was breaking with this products. I adore Oscar Blandi... can I marry him? I love his Hair Crema Shampooo and Conditioner. Its soooo moisturizing. I am hoping that he comes out with liter sizes of that stuff. I used to think that the more expensive stuff work best, but after gettingto know Africa's Best, Lekair, Motions, i have learned otherwise. I think its all about the knowledge you have behind the product. You can spend uber-bucks on a product, but if you don't know how to use it and what to use it for, it won't work. Thats been my hair life lesson.
Question: Tell the truth did your product choice helped with your goals??
************************
Answer: Yes. Product Choice and method hand in hand helped me reach my goals. The right Products are important because some of them can do nothing but coat your hair. The importance in products for me is the Ingredients. (verse cheap/expensive)
*Methods are REALLY important. If you use all the right products and FRY your hair with to much heat, What did you just gain??? (OP..sorry, I couldn't just talk about products without mentioning methods.)
i don't enjoy buying the more expensive products but i have yet to find a cheapy shamp/cond and moisturizer my hair likes. i tried using cheaper products and the end results are always horrible
some people can use the cheaper stuff and do great. i just know i can't.
I use Phytorelaxer after 5 yrs of being natural. I have the result for which I'd hoped (but didn't really expect <wry g>) and my hair is longer than it has been since my mum used to do my hair. A few months ago, woman came up to me in a shop and said my hair "looked healthy". Would a bargain-brand relaxer have worked as well? Perhaps, *if* it had been pared with what I now know about hair care. One of my favourite products is Blue Magic Bergamont hair and scalp conditioner (the green olive oil formula) and it's available in grocery stores.
