We are experiencing growth issues.

We've seen other people talk about serious growth, and we cant agree.
I'm 12 weeks post relaxer and I might have about 1 cm all around.

Sweet Bliss what about you?

I'm in my 8th month of stretching and it looks like I have about 2 inches of new growth. Something's not right. :perplexed

The only time I can actually see or feel the new growth is when it's wet. In any case there's about 1/2 as much growth as there should be.

I've just started taking 2,000 mg of MSM to see if that helps. If anyone has any sure fire tips to speed up growth I'd really appreciate your insight.

hey gurls! i used to barely get 1/2 inch per month till i started taking Biotin WITH b-50complex!

and it HAS to be with. this can accelerate your growth really well, i manage to get a good inch now, as it did back in 2005 (march-april) i also take a multi and flaxseed oil.

i found massaging my scalp and the essential oi lthing way too tedius and to be honest i wasn't feelin it! i dont relaly like manipulating my hair or scalp anymore, and i must admit, airdrying makes your hair grow, and ur new grwoth is usually the last to dry and keep ur scalp moist. wash often and also, your ends. u wont see any growth if you dont preserve ur ends..i preserve mines by using grease.

hope that helps

May I ask what brand you are taking?

I have to buy that as well then. Cos I feel like stretching is a waste of time if I am not seeing the growth that I need.

Same here. I'm on my 7th month of stretching and I only have about 2 inches of new growth.

I tried taking biotin but it broke me out.

I'm not alone! But I do sympathize Keen.

It's probably as easy as increasing blood flow to the scalp in some way. I notice at work where I'm typing all day every day, I have to cut my nails once a week (I like them short). When on holiday, I *might* cut them once in 3 weeks. The same principle probably applies to hair, but I haven't got the patience for frequent massages and can't do headstands.

Dang.... Sorry you ladies are having such a difficult time. I haven't relaxed since august 05 (6 months or so) and I think I have about 3-3.5 inches of new growth. Don't compare your hair growth to others....everyone is not the same. Stay encouraged and don't give up.

I've learned a long time ago not to chase other's progress. Everyone's growth rate differs because of genetics and diet.

I've decided a long time ago that it was not worth all the trouble to do all the massage or daily scalp treatments, lots of vitamin just to gain an extra 1/8 of growth a month.

My concentration has been retaining my lengh instead of faster growth. that has worked fine for me.

thanks for the encouragement ;)

Also, keeping the body healthy and keeping the body around 80% alkaline (like the info you posted Trinidarkie in the Health Discussion board) will do wonders for your hair and everything. :yep:

I agree. Don't measure your success by what's happening with other people. That's just a set-up to be disappointed!

Thanks for the kind words ladies.
I've significantly changed my diet. I eat lots more fruits and veggies now. I'm just kinda impatient yuh know?
I'm retaining length, which is great.. Cos I lost some length last year.
But to be honest, over the last 2 years, I pretty much grew a new head of hair, so I'm not badly off at all.
