My last relaxer was 4 weeks ago, but I started seeing serious reversion like 2 weeks ago, around the time I started working out. Since I started working out, my new growth is extremely soft (I guess because my scalp sweats a lot?), but it's the SAME new growth from my last relaxer! I know for a fact that it has reverted because #1, it was stick straight after my relaxer (from rollersetting, I'm texlaxed), and #2, I have almost 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches of new growth in some areas...IMPOSSIBLE for my hair! I don't use supplements, (or eat as healthy as I should for that matter :look:). My question is...WHAT HAPPENED??? I thought there was no such thing as reversion!!! It doesn't bother me because I protective style 99.9% of the time (except relaxer day and about 2 days after that), but I am curious... Is working out and sweating causing reversion???

Sweating could be causing it. Many of the ladies here who work out are looking for solutions to this. Wearing braidouts or braiding/plaiting my hair helps combat shrinkage if I'm in a situation where my scalp may sweat.

I work out but I make sure the room is cooler or I have a fan or something blowing on me so I am not sweating. Also, all exercises do not require sweating to be effective, such as yoga and pilates.
