Summer: Using Heat Protectant to Seal?

This summer is very dry here in Michigan. I can wash my hair, and it will dry completely by the time I step out the door.

Do you think using a heat protectant on my hair for summer care is a good idea?

ETA: I thought I read a post in here about that, but I can not seem to find it.

Okay. Well, I am going to try it today even though the sun is not that hot today. I will let you all know how it went... if anyone cares, lol.

What hairstyles do you wear?

I know I've read a few times that serums are great for sealing in moisture, which make sense because of the silicones. So I'm assuming a heat protectant may have a similar effect.

I don't see why not, I use my heat protectant as a moisturizer. The ingredients are similar and it feels good. I use John Frieda.

Let us know how it works out.

I agree, I've always thought heat protectants were nothing more than cone-heavy leave-in moisturizers.
