I'm about 13 weeks post relaxer, and I'm experiencing an increase of shedding. There are a few broken pieces, but mostly it's hair with the white bulb on the end. Is this a sign that I need a relaxer? It just doesn't make sense.
erplexed I've cut back on combing my hair until right before I wash it because of the shedding. How do you determine it's time to end the stretch?
. It used to be every 6 weeks. I haven't experienced any unusual shedding/breakage yet, but at least I know some signs to look for. I think I can make it
I think it may be time for me to relax. I hope it's not something more serious than that. I could be yanking out the hairs because I'm not detangling well after washing. Airdrying has helped a bit, but I realized that I have to work through my hair with a water-based moisturizer before washing. Otherwise, my hair starts coming out in clumps in the shower because the loose shed hair wraps around the rest. (Took two washes and a lot of pain for me to figure this out
) I actually have another question for the strechers: Do you apply something special to your new growth daily? I have found that if I apply the moisturizer every other night, it makes my life easier come wash time.
